DislikedNeal,
what if the EA executes a trade and i decide to shut down my system and leave. will it close the trade when it is time to close it even when the system is shut down.Ignored
DislikedHi Neil !
Sorry but we're a bit thick.
Could you please explain what files go where in moredetail as most of us are a little confused. What I see is three files that need to go somewhere. Can you be a scholar and a gentleman and give us a helping hand ?
Many thanks !Ignored
DislikedVersion 1.5 was so exciting I wanted to go ahead and let every have access to it for backtesting & forward testing.
It is not dependant on any certain pair - should work with any.
There are viturally no setting required. StopLoss, TakeProfit and exits are completley handled by the EA.
It is a stable version with above average performance. I have only been able to back test with 1 month at this point (the indicator is VERY resource intensive - a backtest of a single month takes about 5-10 minutes).
The backtesting done was for January 2008 for the GBP/JPY pair. I would suspect that the more volitale the pair the better the performance (will try it on Gold some day - lol).
January Results
Backtesting Results: http://26z.net/forex/9.htm
Operation Time: 24/7
Net Profit: $17,267.57
Profit Trades: 66.04%
Absolute Draw Down: $883.18
Attached is the EA v1.5 and the UT_FAST1 (modified version) which it uses. The origional UT_FAST indicator is also attached but not necessary for operation.
There are a few more tweaks left to do to try to cut down on the size of some of the losses. Optimization is also currently being done (takes time since it's so resource intensive).
At this time I am only releasing the .ex4 file of the expert. I will make a determination on releasing the source at a future date. There is so much design & logic incorporated in it that the source may not end up being public.Ignored
DislikedI've been doing this for years but I'm still a bit lost.
Are you telling me save the UT_FAST1.mq4 indicator to indicators and the v1.5 file to experts ?Ignored
Dislikedhello
i dont see any parameter in this versign of time setting but in your backtest is this time setting.why?
thanksIgnored
DislikedOK Neil a group of us have attached v1.5 to the charts and all is working. I have also got the fast1 file on screen as well which is obviously the indicator at the bottom of the screen ? Do I need to do antyhing else ?? When are you releasing v1.6 and you give us clear instructions as not all of us are as smart as you. :-)
Many Thanks.Ignored
Dislikedi like the trailing stop idea as you mentionned it for the 1.6 and in fact i was thinking the same way a few hours ago.
I was also thinking looking at shorter timeframe for UT_FAST to reverse to pinpoint the moment where you need to update the trailing stop...
edit : losing 272$ closed trade and 70$ loss floating but it's on several pairs on M5 so i'll let it run to see which pair are profitable and which aren't
Another question : is the 1.5 ver locked on a specific TF like the 1.4 which had to be attached to M30 ?Ignored
DislikedThe tricky part is trying to put in logic to minimize loss, yet not prematurely close out a trade that is going good - that's whats giving me such a difficult time and taking so long.Ignored
