Disliked{quote} ,,,,, before I go,,, ,,,,there's a conundrum that maybe you could offer some assistance with ,,,seeing as you were so keen on the idea of a second referendum ,,,, There 's this obscure city,,,, I never knew it existed until the petition for a second referendum got traction,,,, this city has a population of 800 people and as far as I know is not part of the Uk. Yet,,,,, yet ,,,,,for some strange reason our petition for a second referendum was signed by 44,000 people from this city. I only ask because your profile says you are from the Vatican...Ignored
Im glad your ing, because its a fun story.
And it also shows the dangers of not checking ones facts. A problem I understand that has been already pointed out .
The answer to your conundrum is that the original petition site was set up by a student, William Oliver Healey, and English Democrat Party supporter and BREXITEER.
It was meant to protest an expected Remain outcome, with deliberate backdoors to allow the Brexit creators to manipulate and boost the figures.
When the outcome endorsed Brexit, some opportunist Remain supporters (of probably the same age and competence) publicized it to protest the Brexit vote.
And millions of genuine Remainers used it to register their petition, without realizing that it was (1) controlled by a Brexiteer, and (2.) designed to be interfered with.?
The brexeers who had the administration of the site used those rights to facilitate an exploit to discredit the petition by batch loading it with DELIBERATELY Rdiculous subscriptions. (Like the Vatican City ) They HAD to be ridiculous, in order for them to be immediately recognized as bogus, thus discrediting the real Remain subscribers, and "Regrets" that had been polled the site.
How are we doing @itsallover? Have you figured it out?
A Wonderfully half-arsed bit of Brexit dirty trickery. Which because of the 1 second attention span of the British public has apparently become an urban myth..LoL
