Been trading currencies almost 5 years, last few years for myself. My evolution as a trader has gone from daily charts to 1/5 minute charts.
In the begining it was following the rules, slowly it has changed to a combination of rules and experience. I give you an example, if rules say to go long but I have a feeling that it might go the opposite I do not take the trade instead I look to go short. I think it is called a "gut feeling", not sure. Not perfect but it is fascinating how often it is right. 5 years from now perhaps next step in evolution is to trade only by "gut feeling" who knows. Looking forward to what the years will bring. I have a system for the minute chart and a second one for the 5 minute chart. Both have stayed more or less the same, some times I wonder how people trade when they say their system stops working. Perhaps in the first place it was put together the wrong way. This thread would have been far more interesting if people shared how their trading has evolved through out the years insted of saying they moved from one time frame to an other, there has to be more than that.
Ado if you make money in the lower timeframes why move to higher? Why not stick to what you are good at and improve it? You do not need to be glued to the screen, 1-2 trades with higher lots and you finnish for the day. Someone who wishes to argue for higher timeframes do not bother this is not the point and besides this question is adressed to ado.
ps. Those who say money can not be made in lower timeframes either never tried it or lost because they never took the time to learn it.
