Hello,
It’s my first post in this community, though I’ve been around reading for 1 month.
I’m new to Forex (been in other kinds of markets until now).
I’m taking the step to participate because this system follows rules similar to those I’ve been testing and looking to follow, so no other thread has caught my eye, as this one has.
And the indicator that you’ve built, ronmatzkin, brings it to an all new level!
Congrats!
Talking about it now:
Corre has a point… a lot of times this happens, and looking back at the charts doesn’t give you the all idea about the losses… maybe coding a different cross colour for the stop and reverse situation?
Here’s how I prefer to trade it (well, demo-trade it, for now):
If the fourth quarter is reached, I prefer letting it go with a trailing stop, rather than until a reverse signal comes – and after it’s a closed trade, I won’t trade again until a reverse entry signal comes (I do not trade other signals in the direction of the previous trade);
I use 1H TF, 50 EMA, and I change (on a daily base) the TP and SL to 2*ATR(24) in each pare.
Also, how is it going with the calculation method? It’s clear it isn’t working for now, but it’s a great idea and will be a great help, if you manage to correct it!
DislikedRonmatzkin, I think the backtesting calculation method is only counting the losses:
I've applied it to a pair and start date with only losses until now (approximately between last 12 to 24 hours), and it seems to count the pip loss correctly;
When doing it in a pair with only gains, the counting shows 0 pips.
Don't know if you noticed it... if not, I hope it helps.Ignored
Dislikedhello there, when setting up the ema's theres a "Shift" drop down menu and an "Apply to" drop down menu, what are the settings for these,Ignored
Dislikedsome news?? I found that there's a way to improve a lot this technic.
we can avoid many false segnals that becomes loss using a "flat-market" indicator.
till now i have been using the MA Angle one. If 5EMA has a slope below 1.5 we do not enter the market in any way.
more than this the 5 EMA helps us not to enter positions that are short/long in the 25EMA but long/short in the 5 one.
This helps us to avoid a lot of false segnals... rotzmakin, we need you to add this to the indicator please!Ignored
DislikedHi Corre, thanks for your feedback.
Can you please summarize the additions needed and how to use them...
I will try to modify the indicator to support your additions.Ignored
DislikedHi again Corre, let me try to sum things up:
We add 5EMA to the system.
1.If we get an opposite signal between the 25EMA and 5 EMA we do not enter a trade.
2. If the slope of the 5EMA is below 1.5 we do not enter a trade - how do you want to measure this slope?Ignored
Dislikedso: in my opinion we have to change the fourth quarter stop may be adding a fifth lot (or mini/micro lot it depends on how you want to trade it) and let it run again as someone said before in this thread.Ignored
