DislikedHi fx_ninja,
As Billbss pointed out it does depend on your broker. I use VT or MT platforms for my analysis but I actually place my trades with my broker (Questrade). I know they do allow for partial lots in a live mini account (cause I enquired) but for some reason it's not possible on demo (bad marketing, all demos should have as close as possible the same features as live since demos are used to get familiarized with the platform).
Over the week-end I'll be looking into Oanda. If anyone has any comment, please let me know. I usually go have a look at ForexBastards for insight on brokers, but with recent posts here, I'm not sure it's such a reliable source. Can anyone recommend an impartial (if that exists) site for rating brokers?Ignored
DislikedFrom an Fx_ninja's idea I coded this little indicator that could help to better display signal for supernova method and remove some indicators from screen.
Actually it take care about QQE dot, DMI, Momentum and T3 (no Heiken Ashi so check it by yourself on the chart).
Here's color behaviour :
- blue : long signal
- red : short signal
- yellow : no signal (not all indicator agree)
There's only one parameter called Minutes and you can put there the minute timeframe where you want to apply indicator, so Minutes could assume these values : 5,15,60,240,1440
You can also put as much time as you want this indicator on the same chart to track multiple time frame at one time.
Please test it and report back errors
Happy pips

DislikedHi All interesting Thread.
I am using VT Trader and my Trade Logs don't look like any of the posted trade logs, What Brokers are VT Traders Using? I have CMS and it's a real pain to get money in and out of the account.
Thanks,
PaulIgnored
DislikedAre you going to open up a journal here at Forex Factory? I for one would like to see how your getting on and I like reading your posts. Your welcome to keep posting trades in here too.Ignored
DislikedI will not recommend a site. I've accs with 3 brokers - and will recommend only one of them FxSol - but the price is spread....
hope that helps
p.s. it is possible with them to partial close of positions
p.s.2 felix - do not believe him and his site
p.s.3 fxsol have up to 1:400 leverage
and p.s. 4 acc with them since 2005Ignored

(although with a beer , I must admit)Ignored
DislikedOh yeah I should head back, stare at charts all night and have a couple of beers too.
Hope you open the journal, so I can read it while i'm farting at work
(Remember what you said about farting )Ignored
DislikedMe? I would never speak about farting in a post!!! (it was Winston Churchill, not me hehehe) I once saw a site (Allposters.com or something) that had a super poster entitled "Farting" with like 12 pictures (black and white) and all the people in the pictures had an attitude like "who me? never!". hehehe
Anyway, back to trading.
About the journal. I shoulda made a journal ever since I started demo-trading back in jan-feb of this year. What a horrible story that would be to read! I tried almost every system + invented 2 myself, all the timeframes (well not the monthies ), all the pairs (again NOT ALL my broker has I think about over 100 maybe more) but the majors, I mixed and matched systems/indicators/time frames/pairs and I'll tell you Disaster should have been my nick or Pip Disaster, actually. I did have some good trades, of course, but my ratio was inverted LOL. And I kept changing systems after 2 days (which didn’t help). I was also testing brokers/platforms with demo accounts, I think I’ve got over a dozen on my desktop (oh my god). Anyway, bottom line is I was negative.
Up until now. That whole last paragraph is a very long way of saying THANKS CRYTEN!!!
So yeah I'll give the journal a try. And if I'm able to be positive again next week I'M GOING LIVE I SWEAR (then we'll all see my account crash of course hehehe) But seriously, I'll go live. Just need to check out Oanda first (ANYONE GOT ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT OANDA?? good or bad) I need to get the paperwork out of the way for in 2 weeks (!)
I also need to get a flash drive and install all my stuff for office peeks (that's until I sack da boss).
I’ll continue in another post, cause I’m not allowed any more smileys hehehe.Ignored
Disliked(continued from last post, we’re not allowed more than 3 smileys per post LOL)
A quick recap of this week. This might not look that impressive to many people, but I just made 762.32$ this week trading. Now I won't tell you how much I make @ work but...... yeah I will, who cares anyway. I make about 60K/year CAD (do your own conversions in your various currencies to get a matching amount, we're all getting pretty good at currency conversions lol). Now 60k/year minus taxes and all that comes to about 40k/year net in my pocket. Divide that by 13 months (yes there are 13 months in a year, not 12, count them..... 52/12=? then try 13) And if anybody cares, the above yearly salary includes ALOT of overtime. And I always do A LOT of overtime which has the following results (1) it's time I can't be trading (2) when I get home I'm so tired I can't think straight.
So:
Month: 3000$
Week: 750$
Day: 150$
150$ is about 18 pips for 1 standard lot for GBPJPY @ 8.60$/pip.
That's about what I "made" this week - but this week I ALSO WORKED AT MY DAYJOB, so I'm just going crazy thinking what it could be if ...... well you know the rest.
I think I’ll change my sig. to “On a journey to Sack da Boss” for extra attitude boosting
So bottom line is I think opening up a journal and entering live trades with details using your system (I’m talking to cryten here lol) would be a way of testing it on a real live person (I’m a guiney pig :surprised !!!) in real time and it would be my way of saying thanks (because my results will show that a lowly human, even having a day job, BUT using a super system has a POSTIVE OUTCOME) (I’m already scared of screwing things up ehehe)Ignored
DislikedI bought a flash drive today off ebay
I'm glad this system works for you, works for me too
You know august is a low volume month, I'm really looking forward to the coming months!
June, July and August is when us brits take our summer vacation, so the london boys will be back soon. Probably with post holiday depression so watch out lolIgnored
DislikedLOW VOLUME????????? But MEGA volatility??? (what's the difference ? never understood where volume numbers come from for Forex except maybe from the number of ticks per candle meaning number of changes in price) You mean to say you think it's going to get even more volatile???? GBPJPY went from 251.07 on July 20 to 219.32 on Aug 17 that's OVER 3 THOUSAND pips in about a month, in a period which was in an uptrend (that comes to 25,800$ USD for 1 standard lot in a month BABY). Low volume???? Please explain.
From what I've read, July-Aug is often a period of retrace (mega retrace in this case) for some reason (japanese close out their longs cause they're going shopping on vacation or something like that)Ignored
DislikedWell it's probably not been a normal august month for guppy with the carry trade situation but I was meaning intra day volatility, I like to trade the breakouts around euro open and lately this has been a bit crappy hence my quick trades on US open before going to work.
I am soooo looking forward to a repeat of last weeks action! the 5min charts were giving pips away!Ignored
