Quoting 5MinuteStudentDislikedRex,
I saw your addition of extra days to the data portion of the spreadsheet.
I like it very much since it adds historical reliability to the analysis, and it provides us with more certainty in our conclusions.
I hope you won't mind the changes I did to my spreadsheet since I saw your post of the new files after I had already initiated changes on mine.
I made some additional changes after I started this post:
I added an additional column to the data sheet to count the number of instances less than 30 pips from the open with a few other minor changes.

Quoting 5MinuteStudentDislikedlambrechtj,
I could not find the translation tab, but I found something called Transition. Is this perhaps the one you meant?

Quoting xspowerxDislikedRex and 5minutestudent,
Your excel files are extremly helpful and I thank your for sharing your excel expertise with us! I did make my own excel sheet but it was no where as good as yours! It may take some time getting accustomed to it but I have a few questions:
1) If I want to add more recent dates to the spreadsheet, for example, 2/20, will it do that automaticly if I have the DDE server enabled? What if I want to remove a date, such as a holiday like Monday? How do I do that without messing up the mathmatical programmings within the file itself?
2) Is there anything else I must have enabled besides DDE server? Like something in excel?
3) What parts are automated in the file? Like, for example, is interday analysis an area where we manage it ourselves?
Again, that is some wonder peice of work.Ignored
Quoting lambrechtjDislikedMy version of Excel is 2002.
If your spread sheet is working and displays the values don't even worry about it.
Looks like Rex discovered something.
If you use a regular account your dde formula should look like this
=MT4|ask!GBPUSD
If you use a Mini account your formula should look like this
=MT4|ask!GBPUSDm the little m stands for mini account, If you use the wrong one your cell will display N/A for not availble.
You will want to start MT4 before opening the spreadsheet, other wise it just gets confused about how to start mt4 and update the values etc.
Interbank is up and online showing prices but they are not moving yet not till 6pm est. You could get a demo of that if you want to play with your spreadsheet on Sunday.
Nice work, there are so many versions of the spreadsheet my head is spinning on which one is the one to useIgnored
Quoting fire580Disliked5MinuteStudent. rex - Thank you, for all the hard work, and up to the minute sharing of the development of your "data, and trade sheets" -
I look foward to using them in my daily trading of the VWBII, (4) hr tunnel, and (1) hr tunnel
Thanks, againIgnored
Quoting 5MinuteStudentDislikedxspowerx,
This should be the first week I use it automatic data flowing in so I hope it will work. Thank you for your words of encouragement.
I believe you will have to add the dates by yourself. I hope someday there will be someone with Excel macro knowledge who will make a script to enter the dates by itself. In the meantime we will have to do this on our own.
If you want to delete a date (I can't see why) you can do so by deleting the whole row.
For detailed information of what to switch on or off look back a few posts. There is a very detailed post answering this question.
You should only have to enter at the top on the yellow highlighted cells some information like the daily open, whether you want to buy or sell, whether there was a reversal signal the day before, and whether the price action is near a significant fib level.
If you are interested in the 1-hr and 4-hr trades, or if you would like to get additional information from them, you can try by entering the 169 and 144 tunnel data for the 1-hr and the 4-hr. You can also enter data for the 24 and 28 MA for the daily data. You may find the feedback useful for this section; otherwise, you may disregard it.
There are still some parts of the spreadsheet where I have not completed work such as on speed and the Vegas' tunnels, but perhaps one day with more time, I will do this.

Quoting xspowerxDislikedThe reason I asked about deleting dates is because if in the event that it was automated dating, we wouldn't want our numbers to be calculated with weekends/holidays, for example tommorow.
So lets say I want to add 2/21 i have to click the line, insert new row, fill it all in and include the scripts, right?
Also, I see several versions so which one is the final one?
Also, post # 427 gives details on how to export data from MT4.Ignored
Quoting 5MinuteStudentDislikedlambrechtj,
Thank you for your support and ideas.
I am trying now to use the suggestion by Vegas of using the StrategyBuilder FX4 in order to have access to the S&P.
Would you have an idea of what is the beginning of the code for the Excel cells? Would it be something like
=SBFX4|ask!GBPUSD ?
Regards,Ignored
Quoting lambrechtjDislikedShould be exactly the same as before
=mt4|ask!GBPUSD or =mt4|ask!GBPUSDm
The software vendor is still Meta Trader regardless of the broker.
You will want to replace GBPUSD with what ever S&P is called.
I could not find that security, I think someone else was explaining how to get it on Metatrader. Must have been Vegas.
There is a sample excel spread sheet at
c:\programfiles\strategybuilderfx\sampledde.xls to play with.

Quoting 5MinuteStudentDislikedxspowerx,
You have a great point there regarding holidays and weekends.
If you go to the sheet titled "Data Sheet," and you go to row 9 cellA, then I believe that Rex (I hope I am right) entered a comment detailing instruction for the insertion of a new row.
The way I would do it is as follows:
Select row 9 and choose insert row by right clicking on the this row.
Copy the top row titeld "Formula." Paste this row in the place where you inserted an empty row.
Then enter the date in the place of the word Formula. Enter the open, high, low. I believe this should be it, but don't hold me to it since I have not done yet.
I have uploaded my latest version.
