Firstly guys I know there are quite a few of these around. I'm a noob when it comes to using the strategy tester and I just want some advice on using an EA for testing purposes...
I need a basic EA, nothing fancy, basic basic basic. It will:
Open an order on the next candle when the 5 ema crosses the 18 ema. The candle that causes the cross (the trigger) must have closed before the order is placed.
Stop is set at the high of the trigger candle if sell (plus spread) and the low of the trigger candle if a buy (plus spread).
Another parameter is that the order open should be at the low of the trigger candle if sell and high if a buy. And must be no more than say 2 pips (customizable) away from the 5 ema.
Lot size should simply be 1% of the account size. Nothing more, nothing less. Compounding for me is the way forward!
Optional extras:
This feature should be customizable....if the 62 ema is 4 pips or less away from entry then the order should NOT be placed.
I dunno if any of this is possible but I find myself always getting confused with the myriad of options most ea's have.
Magic numbers....money management bla bla.....I just want something that does the above.
This strategy works on any market, any timeframe. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction!?!?!!?!
