DislikedI guess this need for a preset R:R stems from the human need to "feel" in control of its environment. The sooner one realizes such control is an illusion, the faster one progresses as a trader and, more importantly, as a risk manager IMOIgnored
DislikedIf the market offers more for the same (or even less) risk yet someone intentionally limits themselves to 1:1 then yes, wasting their own potential and the potential profit offered by the market.

DislikedIll take a profit factor of 1.1 that trades 10 times a day of over a system with a profit factor of 10 that trades 10 times a year. The effect of compounding and trade frequency can have a more significant effect on gains than profit factor

DislikedSorry, but I don't have time to read beyond the first post/question. Using your example, you put all that pressure on yourself to come up with the skills to develop and execute a strategy that can deliver 1:2 RR so you can make 2530 pips rather than the 80 (49 losses at 51.2, 51 wins at 98.8). BTW, if you can come up with a strategy to deliver 1:1, you are well on your way to coming up with a 1:2 strategy, too. Good luck.Ignored
