18 months ago I started on this hard, lonely but captivating road. I started as a Newbie and have made slow but steady progress - I tell myself that it will take me 10000 hours to become proficient - and on a time basis I'm a quarter way there. After a good day I realise how far I've come - on bad days I realise how much I still have to learn.
That brings me to the reason for my post. Is there any objective measure of trader progress. In other areas professional are accredited for skills and move up well defined points in a ladder. This is the type of thing I'm looking for:
1. Lets define skill 1 = Newbie, first day on babypips
2. Lets define skill 10 = Best trader we can name - I'm sure there are names in this forum.
3. What are skill levels 2 to 9? How can we as traders objectively measure progress. eg Skill level 4 could be 'Double the size of a demo account in 3 months', Skill level 6 could be 'Grow a live account by at least 10% a month for 3 months' etc...
This would help me not only to position myself, but also to set reasonable and achievable objectives. Perhaps there is even some external accreditation based on performance - rather like the trading competitions?
Any ideas....?
