DislikedBeware, Some IB have deals where commissions/spread are increased to favor them. With an increased commission they could offer you more, but has I have said, you might be paying more upfront. Just a thought.

DislikedI started documenting latency and the resulting slippage on 9 accounts (2 of them are pepperstone EDGE). After 6 trades I can tell you things are actually not looking very good for Pepperstone!
It took all of 26.0 seconds combined to open them on one EDGE standard account and
46.6 seconds combined to open them on another EDGE standard account
Same 6 trades on other accounts:
Alpari between 9.5 and 10.8 seconds combined (4 accounts)
FXpig 7.5 seconds
Go markets 25.5 seconds
and finally
Armada 2.8 seconds
Average time to open a trade therefore:
pepperstone EDGE standard 4.33s
pepperstone EDGE standard 7.77s
alpari best 1.58s
alpari worst 1.80s
FXpig 1.25s
GO markets 4.25s (very consistently around this number)
Armada 0.47s (never above 1 second)
Slippage is not that much worse on Peperstone as is the time to open a trade. Will keep on documenting for a while before I take it to Pepperstone. They can't blame the conditions, everything runs on a number of CNS VPS in London (Alpari, Armada) and New York (Pepperstone, Go markets, FXpig). If it's anybody that could do with a better VPS location it's Go markets.Ignored

DislikedPrimi, I don't have any executions on my Standard account in the last few days (paused my EAs for some reworking of their code,) but when I was last observing execution it was pretty instant, within a second if not faster.
Around the same speed as my Razor, which even today I noted to have execution measured in milliseconds.
Mind you, I'm in Toronto, and just a spit away from the NY4 datacenter (~10 hour drive.) But even if you were in Asia or Europe it shouldn't add seconds to your execution, more like an extra few hundred milliseconds.

DislikedI sincerely hope you have not been directing any of this at me and that this was just a coincidence of you appearing at just the wrong moment.
As I said I'm recording the data and will be taking it to pepperstone on monday with the file attached. I've been happy with Pepperstone from the very beginning and up to the moment when I switched to the so called 'better' EDGE technology. Now however things are not what I'd like to see on an account of any size. And we have a new record:

Owen Kerr is a serious player.
Pepperstone is a serious broker.
I love trading at 400:1.
I love getting the weekly withdrawals of my profits into my bank account.
I subscribe to this thread just in case there is something I should know about them.
But quite frankly, the most annoying thing is the noise I read from the TWITS (that's Australian for "f*ckwits") who dream of ever having a live account.

DislikedYou are hardly the only soft-cock on this thread, yet your nonsense is a case in point.
If you had a genuine bone in your body, you'd be working to resolve any issue directly with any broker you have that issue with, rather than jerking off in public with the exclusion of the broker's input.
Should I guess that in fact you have no outstanding issue registered with Pepper? That you are simply peeing in the wind.

DislikedI've never needed to measure them. I click a button and the trade is done.
I've only had good experiences with Pepper. As I said, I monitor this thread just in case something real ever emerges that I should know about.Ignored
