thanks f451 for the details, i relate to how you think about these issues. it helps put in writing or talk about them. definitely brings perspective & helps you learn from them
i do similar (wrong) things i.e. always trying to short too soon, or i get in too late.... the latter is easier to overcome for me, once i realize i'm doing it, i find it not so hard to stay out of that next trade that i find a little too late. but for me i think they are products of too much screentime & anxiety getting the best of me, lack of balance/perspective. music & taking breaks help.
also one thing that is really helping is in the afternoon when it slows down i print out just one timeframe of each pair i'm watching, usually H1, and take them to the cafe or a park with an actual pencil. i am trying to compensate for the heightened state of staring at a screen while ticks are whizzing by. so far it really helps me see new things on the charts and i come up with new ideas to backtest. i'll be posting whatever i find...
