DislikedGeoff,
You are spot on, it is exactly the same trade.
I guess the only mistake I have made is reducing the SL to 75. It's now back to 140 which as you indicated was the setting reached through optimisation.
Thank you again

DislikedI use shift=0, the others are the same.
I don't know if shift=1 is better, I didn't test it.
I noticed that many loss trade occured when 10 sma was flat, so I wanted to avoid it.Ignored

DislikedAnother thing to consider.. Looking at your chart. Place 10 EMA on the
chart and that spike would be over 10 and possibly generate Long Entry
And instead 10 EMA place 17-24 and your spike would be under the MA
and it will generate Sell instead.. Look at my Example, Chart I post it..
I got Pair sitting under 17 MA whole week, that's why EA took All Sells and win..
10 EA is too short, I mean it's maybe ok, if we Add 50 MA as well
and, if Pair above 10 and 50 then it's buy otherwise Sell
That's is why I'm using larger Time MA.. Too me 10 MA...Ignored
DislikedI'll ask while it's quiet. I know it's been asked and answered loads of time but i've yet to find a definitive answer, but Geoff as you are in the UK like myself what GMT/time setting do you put in v5 and v7. thanksIgnored
DislikedHi PipBear
SkyzerFX uses a lower SL very successfully but I suspect he is using his vast experience to be able to do this, keep an eye out for his posts!
I'm afraid I can only rely on the optimiser for my own settings!Ignored
DislikedThe only time that is relevent to the EA setting is your broker time, if you are with Alpari UK then the offset is +2, your computer local time is not used.
Set your GMT offset to 2 and your start time to 23, one hour before Yokyo open.
forex.com are permanent demo accounts the same as Alpari, the only demo accounts that I have come accross that expire are with ECN accounts, of course I could be wrong, I haven't tried all that many!
Metatrader MT4 is a standard setup from all brokers so all the standard indicators and all EA's should work...Ignored
DislikedSkyzerfx, please, I don't see your chart. Can you post it please, or post your settings? Thank you.Ignored
DislikedGeoff,
Have you optimized forex.com, offset=0 like you did Alpari where offset=2?? Could the settings be different?Ignored
DislikedThe spreads are higher on forex.com so our results are not as good so, because I don't have time to optimise for each broker that I use, I reverted back to Alpari for my testing.
I have been using Alpari for about 4 years and I have been able to check my EA's forward test results with back test results and they are very close, which gives me some confidence to carry on using Alpari despite what has been said in previous posts.
I guess it's a case of "better the devil you know"!Ignored
DislikedI'm so glad to hear this. With you being Sir Geoff and all. I've tried for a week to get Forex.com to comply and I tried FXCBS as well with no results. I"m happy that Alpari won out. Thank you Sir.Ignored
DislikedIt is time we named the baby, how about a competition, no prizes of course just the cudos!
I looked at Simple H1 Trader, but the initials don't give the right image!
Any (clean) suggestions?Ignored
