Well we've got the Conservatives and Lib Dems in talks today to form a coalition government. President Obama apparently labelled Cameron a "lightweight" so I guess they're not going to be best buddies like "Yo Blair and Bush". And the Brits won't be backing that European Bailout Fund either. Not sure how that is going to go down. What are they going to back it with anyway - they haven't got any money.
As an aside Jim Rogers is shorting a large western international financial institution that he describes as a bank which people think is 'extremely sound', but which could be taken down by currency problems. Speculation says it's either Citigroup, JPMorgan or Goldman Sachs. I just received a timely reminder by email from one of my banks in the UK reminding me that only £50,000 is guaranteed if the bank fails - it was from Banco Santander. Time will tell ....
