Hello all,
The idea is to parse the Forex factory calendar, and create an .ics file from it.
.ics files are calendar files compatable with most email/calendar programs, eg: outlook, thunderbird and especially useful windows-mobile phones calendar.
I have lost interest in programming lately, Ive no passion left for it at all, but I think this would be a useful project so thought Ide post the idea on here and see if anyone would relish the task!
I have got some python scripts I wrote a few years ago to parse html tables off a horse racing website. I will upload these if anyone wants to take up this idea, they might be useful for this project, and a good head start.
It wouldnt be a particularly long job, but the html parsing will require good pattern matching skills (almost certainly need good regexp skills) and a strategic approach to working out the best way to do it.
Let me know what you think
