Dislikedhi there,
the instructions in post 1 are excatly how i trade this system.
Being in Italy does not matter, its the time your broker shows that matters.
the end time of the indicator should be 6 am UK time so adjust to suit your brokers time. for example i use alpari UK (gmt +2), so my end hour is currently 7.... hope that is understandable, if not post your broker and its gmt offset and i'll work it out for you...
to get a moving average on your chart, go to the navigator section and drag and drop a moving average from the inicators section...Ignored
DislikedHi Grant!!
I've always been intrigued by breakout strategies...I've downloaded the Box Breakout EA 1.3 just to backtest your rules for this strategy...and it seems a very good start.
Usually I use EAs just to have an idea of the performace...and I have to say that your rules seem really strong, I'm attaching 2 backytests from start of 2009 till today, starting with a small account of 3000 euro, using 1% of risk and compounding the gains.
The first equity curve doesn't trade if the MA is inside the box, the second trades even if the MA is inside...Ignored

I have been using the Boxbreakout EA as well but have noticed that it sometimes trades before the last bar has closed and that sometimes on my demo account it trades just as the price breaks out yet on my live account it is slightly delayed, often getting into a trade when my demo is half closing at 10 pips....Ignored

DislikedI have been trading Grants Method a little differently..
I trade 3 positions, TP1 of 15, TP2 of 30 and TP3 of 45.. and SL of 15 pips... I put MA 85 on 1 hour chart and determine trend that way... if it happens to be inside box I switch to 15 min and look at MA 85 there and scale down to only 2 positions.
Here are backtests of my version of Grants Method for Year 2009 and as well this Year 2010.Ignored
