DislikedDear Thread,
There seems to be a certain curve-fitting mentality going on right now with the losses incurred by the JPY---this happens in every thread at FF just before the thread goes
dead, i.e. reality meets initial good results. Frankly, that move is no big deal and it is going to happen on any other pair you can think of some time or another. Hence, the quest should rather be how to adjust the MM to survive such moves. Rather than cherry-pick the universe, figure out how to deal with the real risk of this model. DislikedWhew I final got out of EUR/JPY at a small profit. Ended up going 5 level because I noticed that it near the R1. Still have 3 more pairs with JPY open.Ignored

DislikedOn my IBFX demo, I am still in both Level 3 JPY trades... they are looking much better now then last night.
Can we select some pairs to trade 3 Levels and select 4 Levels for other pairs?Ignored
DislikedWe probably already know this, but its easy to lose sight of it when the going gets tough:
1. Everyone has different risk appetites. We need to figure out how much in terms of $ value is too much.
- If we can't handle the loss from trading $0.10/lot, then trade $0.01/lot.
- If that is not possible, then look at limiting the levels you are willing to go to (as stated by NanningBob) then CUTTING LOSS (I know I'm guilty of adding more levels thinking that it will retrace after x pips).
- Or increase the distance from the median (as suggested by...Ignored
DislikedLike the joke "What's the worst that could happen?".....THAT'S what you want to plan on.Ignored
DislikedThis has worked out well for me so far this week. As soon as a pair gets to 4L, shut down all pairs that aren't trading, and all pairs that are positive or close to BE. This frees up margin and lets you wait out the pair that's in trouble.Ignored
Dislikedamen to that, there will always be a mvoe we cant handle... need to find out how to reduce riskIgnored
DislikedYep, is exactly why I decided to go with 4L on my account. When I see a 3L the first thing I want to do is throw recovery on it, or just wish I had a 4L active. Farther it gets away chances of it retracting are greater. All of my jpy pairs closed in profit a bit ago on level 4, and added another 10% alone to my balance. Know the risks and build them into your strategy.Ignored
