I'm testing an EA right now and am having a recurring problem. The EA works by placing trades one right after another, but that have different TP and SL settings.
Most of the time the EA works properly, but then there are a handful of trades where the EA places the trades with blatantly wrong TP/SL settings. What is odd is that the error is symmetrical.
What I mean by this is that if the TP is incorrect by 5 pips then the SL is also incorrect by 5 pips. What sucks is the error always makes the TP smaller than it should be and the SL larger than it should be.
For example, if the TP/SL is supposed to be 20/20; it may place the trade as 15/25 TP/SL. Or it may be 16/24. The margin of how correct it is, is always symetrical. It takes from the TP and adds it to the SL.
What is most likely going on? It's not a guaranteed issue for every trade, but does pop up from time to time, and enough that it bothers me and affects the success of the system.
I'm sorry, but I do not have the mq4 file. I was hoping someone could offer suggestions as if this is something they've seen before and the best way to mitigate it.
Please help!
