Thank you traderathome, I've been reading those paragraphs once and again. It is very clear that if we want the day to begin (not the trading session, but the day in the timezone, that is, 00:00 EST for NY) it works nicely in any of the brokers. You set -5, and it is 00:00 EST when ODL is at 05:00 GMT and FxPro at 07:00 GMT.
I guess then that it only works to set a beginning from a 00:00 hour and not a particular session, that's why when different times during the day are set it gives wrong ranges and such.
And then I'm lucky that FxPro starts with the USA open/close time
