I've been browsing the forum for a while now and have noticed the almost complete absence of topics on timeless charts. There are range bars, renko, kagi, line break, point and figure charts. Why is no one talking about them? Or better yet, if the prevailing sentiment on the forum is toward timed charts than the proper question might be "What does time give you on a chart?".
My answer is "nothing". On a timeless chart price moves up and down and that is all I care about. It makes no difference if the move is done in 5 seconds or 5 hours. A few months ago I was following the SPX 500. I was expecting PA to move higher and then decline as it was forming a down trend and weakness was evident. It was a lot of ground for the SPX to cover so I was expecting the move to take place throughout the whole day. Well, some news came in (don't remember or care what) and the whole thing lasted literally 5 seconds.
Very curious to learn what others have to say. Is it just the superior charting method, or people just don't know or care enough to dig deeper?
