DislikedGreat thread. I think you're going to get a lot more entertainment out of that $60 than you ever would have if you had simply blown it on a night out. Can't wait to see how it ends up.Ignored
Well there would have been more updates if it had worked out consistently or at all. My last post was over a year ago. I was sort of hoping the thread would stay buried. Thanks a lot for digging it out of retirement! I did have a lot of fun with this account. I started the thread as a joke in a way. A joke but the kind you hope may work out. Well it did not. The account went down to about zero by March. After shuffling over another 60 dollars I tried another experiment but it lost faster so I quit when I got down to about 10 dollars. At the end of July last year I decided to use the account to start testing the PipBoxer EAs. I am still using it for that purpose. Over 500 trades so far. The graph below shows my attempt to go from 10 dollars to 100. Maybe by 2009 if I am lucky.
From the original experiment I learned I am not a good enough trader to randomly select some long and short trades on 4 random pairs and try to make money using only money management with proper SL and TP. I also had very bad luck taking random trade suggestions from other threads in the forum. As far as EAs went I should have never included the firebird EA. I still don't understand how New Digital on TSD is positive with the same EA in his tests. Some of my other EAs made a small profit. The signal service trades were slightly positive as well.
I actually want to try something similar this summer with another 50 or 100 bucks. I just won't talk about until I am successful. Which means probably never.
