DislikedI have a fundamental (not technical) question. Would someone who knows about fundamentals answer please?
We hear a lot these days about flight to safety from higher yielding currencies into the lower yielding currencies in this environment which is called risk aversion.
My question is why the investors move their assets from higher yielding to lower yielding currencies in such an environment . They would get less return for their investment in lower yielding currencies .
I would appreciate any explanation.Ignored

DislikedI have a sneaking suspicion that the charts started telling the story to those that can read a chart correctly well in advance of any economic news event. Whatever the big players do shows up on the charts. You just need to know how to decipher it.Ignored

DislikedHigher yielding currency is more risky...thats why they pay more to own it.
You can put you money in an account that yields 40% but there is more chance that you will loose it all then putting it in an account that yields 2% guaranteed.Ignored
DislikedThe fact recently the low yielding currencies such as USD and JPY are gaining strength is because of the "safe haven" tag that is associated with these 2 currencies. USD has been appreciating these few months because of both deleveraging and the increase in demand for T-bills. JPY all along has been a carry trade instrument and the recent downtrend suggests that people who borrowed in JPY and trade in equities in US markets or other markets now making a loss, has to cover back their margins in USD and repay their loans in JPY.
In any case, there...Ignored
DislikedLets see how do i answer that question. You might be surprised I probably dont bring home the most pips everyweek, but everyweek i bring hom consistant pips.
I bring home anywhere from 500-1000 pips a week. most weeks in 3-4 trades. Some weeks maybe a bit more. Some on here might make more during a week, but I would bet that on a consistant basis my numbers would be hard to beat. I could be wrong not trying to be boastful just trying to answer the question.
