DislikedReeealy now. So they are closing your positions at midnight you claim? Well that's a new one. I'll leave you to Justin.

Quoting charlinksDislikedAt midnight they shutdown the order server similar to the one during rollover. However they don't close your positions, I don't think.Ignored
DislikedI am trading on a live account and am normally in a position during the midnight maintenance, and I can verify that your Positions are not closed (but you wouldn't want them to be) and your Open Orders are "suspended" at that time, so nothing is triggered whilst in maintenance mode.
Yes, the quotes go crazy (but I always assumed it was due to the maintenance and not necessarily that the quotes were reflecting actual trades - I'll have to double-check that next time with my charts), but they will not trigger your SL or TTO, etc. during the maintenance.
Once the maintenance is over and your Open Orders go back to "Accepted" then they become active again.
Under the Open Order window, if you have "Event" as a column, you can see the "Suspended" or "Accepted" status to inform you when this happens.
As Pip_Hunter mentioned, you would have to call the order desk if you want a position closed during maintenance (I have never had to do this yet, though).Ignored

DislikedHi,
I just would like to know if you have to pay the commissions once or twice (open & close) per trade?
Thanks

DislikedThank you.
Thus you have to add about 2 pips extra to the cable for commissions.
That is absolutely heavy. It seems that you need at least 50K$ for ECN trading.
I will trade further with retailers like ABN as long as I am not able to open an account at ECN's with reasonable fees.Ignored
DislikedJanson,
I don't understand how commissions and account size have any correlation with each other, could you please explain this?Ignored

Even if the GBP/USD has a 1 pip spread and you pay a commission...how is this different from paying 3-5 pip spread with any other broker and being down $30-50 right when you enter a trade?
So how is trading with an ECN brokerage any different or is it just psychology since you have to see the money debited from your account, instead of being down in the trade.Ignored
DislikedHi,
all ECN-brokers I know with reasonable fees demand a minimum account size of 50K (except IAB). A fair commission starts about 20$/per one mio volume. That’s what I meant...
Why should anyone trade cable with more than 3 pips spread. Just to say he is trading ECN? For someone who trades intraday more than 3 pips spread is too much. So I prefer retailer with constant 3 pip and would not change to ECN before I am not able to come up with a 50K account.Ignored
Quoting JustinDislikedNow, with us, you pay a net 4 pips in commissions, as you pointed out, on the GBPUSD.Ignored
