Everything mentioned and used in these EAs are available here in Forex Factory or on the Web, the idea is to stick to the "KIS" idea, and not to clutter the chart with many indicators.

There are different EAs mentioned below under developement, so anything mentioned here regarding how the different EAs work or their options are subject to change, so to keep up to date with the latest changes you will need to keep up with the thread.

I will be posting "Help Pages" from time to time and also trade examples to help you get a heads up on just what the EAs are suppose to do and how they are doing. I will not be posting a complete help document for the simple reason I want everyone to read this forum for the answers.

I am always open to new ideas on how to improve the EAs, but before anything is added or changed you must show better results along with actual trade history.

The ideas under investigation are shown below, these can be changed or removed as testing proves or disapproves them, unless that EA is shown as completed.

Basket_H105_v3:(Completed)(Published)
The first Ea is designed to trade a 5 pair basket on a H1 offline chart, it will use an M5 offline chart for the trigger and it will also have the option to use the H4 offline chart for trend confirmation. The pairs the EA will be trading are: GBPUSD, AUDJPY, EURJPY, GBPJPY, NZDUSD, you can not change these, remember, "KIS". This is not a scalping EA, so if thats what you are looking for, look elseware. This EA likes the trend and it will also re-enter a trend if kicked out by a sudden turn and then a continuation in the same direction. The exits are the tricky and subjective part, so once in a trade pay attention as you may see a better exit than the EA, so take it and bank some pips.
The only indicator used for this EA will be the Heiken_Ashi_Smoothed, along with PA, like I said, "KIS".
The Ea will also use "Hot Keys" to make it eaiser to navigate while the EA is running, these will be explained later in the Help Pages to follow.
Basket_H105_v3 which uses a simple TP, SL, and Trailing SL was designed to test out the above idea and is available at Post #162.

Basket_H105_v4: (Completed)(Published)
The only difference in the next version Basket_H105_v4 is that I have added MM similar to MPTM, this version is available at Post #240.

Basket_H105_v5: (Testing)(Test version published)
In this version I have started to test a dynamic pip filter, in the present version you need to select how many pips you want as a buffer before a trade is entered, this number is fixed and does not change. A number like 250 pips works well in keeping you out of a choppy sideways market, but when in a strong trend and you get kicked out by a pull back a smaller number may work better for the re-entry. The dynamic pip filter will adjust the number of filter pips by looking at the slope. So if the slope is steep the number of filter pips will be reduced which will get you back into a possible re-entry sooner. The amount of reduction from the preset starting point is user selectable.
Added in this version:
1) Dynamic Pip Filter.
2) Hot Keys are being replaced with Mouse Clickable Buttons.
3) All 3 HASs will be adjustable by the user, Chart Period, MaMethod, MaPeriod, MaMethod2, and MaPeriod2, you will no longer be tied to 2 15 2 15.
4) 5 different Pairs will now be selectable instead of being locked into the present 5.
5) If using different pairs you will need to use the "Basket_05_indy_R5" indicator to create your offline charts so the pairs that make up the chart are the same ones you have listed in the EA.
See Post #295

EMA_TMA_v1: (Testing)(Published)
This idea was submitted by Unimak and uses the 5 ema and 21 ema cross with confirmation by the TMA strength for an entry.
See Post #299, Post #307, and Post #314.
EMA_TMA_v2:(Testing)(Published)
See Post #359, #366, #367, #368
MP_HTMA_v1:(Testing)(Test version published)
Well here is another idea for everyone to try and lose some money with, it is a multi-pair basket trader using the TMA Slope to enter a trade along with the H1 HAS and the H4 HAS.
1) This one only has 2 HAS indicators and you can adjust the settings and time frames to use of both of them. It looks for a trade on the color change of the HAS1 signal and the trigger level of the TMA Slope to be met. You can also use the HAS2 as confirmation if you like, this is user selectable.
2) You can also use from 1 to 14 different pairs to make up your basket and the first 2 can be set to take the reverse trade of the others in the basket if you like.
3) Use the "Basket_Multi_indy_R14" to set up your off-line charts with the same pairs you will be trading in the EA setup.
Be sure to have the needed off-line charts created for the time frames you are going to use.
Also be sure to check the pip calibration multi with the "Cal Button", for a single Pair on a standard chart this is not needed and the Button will not be available.

Good Luck and Happy Piping

Remember, you can lose all your money trading Forex:

Remember: EAs will only get you to maybe 90 to 95 percent of your goal, they do not have a crystal ball and they are not the Holy Grail, so use some gray matter to make it the rest of the way.

IMHO this is a good idea. The only basket trading EAs I have come across have all been martingale or gridders (which is great in ranging markets), but they never were able to take advantage of a good trend if it happened. That would be the ultimate EA - simple, yet able to take on ranging and trending markets without huge DD. I don't know of any one EA that can do both markets well. I think that would have to include a good trailing stop to work best (stop losing trades, let profits keep running). Add basket trading, and you would have the ultimate EA

Hello Seller9,

The only indicator used will be the HAS on all three time frames and will be 15 2 15 2. ( If other settings are better these can be changed)
You will need 3 offline charts open, M15, H1 and H4 with the EA placed on the H1.

Sorry if im mistaken - u mentioned HAS 15-2-15-2 but it should be

HAS will be 2/15/2/15 as per Mr. KOS in his thread

The order depends on the indicator, the regular HAS is one way and the HAS with alert is the other way in the way they are aranged but still mean the same thing. The ma is 15 and the method is 2, when you do a call from the EA to the HAS indicator the order needs to match with the order the indicator is looking for, so either way can be correct, depending on the indicator being called and some times I get them turned around.

So you are correct.

Hi GVC

I hope all of you who have worked so hard to get the Basket system this far are OK with the new thread, I just didn't want to clutter up anyone elses thread, and KOS's thread is more towards the manual basket trade so I thought no need to clutter over there.
I should know in a week or two if the EA will work out.

Good Luck and thanks for all the insight into basket trading.

H4 color change will always happen at last.
Is it really necessary to check M15 and H1 ?

Thanks

H4 is used to determine the main trend.
M15 is used to get the best entry on the H1, you can get some 500 pip or larger swings, so if you enter at the wrong point on the H1 you could hit your Stop Loss before the PA continues in the same direction, so the M15 is used to avoid this and get the best entry rather than just jumping in at the first color change.
M15 is also used to get the best re-entry when you get kicked out of a trade on the H1 but the H1 trend resumes and H4 is still intact.
If you only want to trade just the H4 that is fine, but you will have larger draw downs to wait through, it would be kind of like being a stock buyer and buying and holding, why be in durring the draw downs.

The idea here is to get the best trades on the H1 and trade the trend on the H4 and avoid the whip saws on the H1.

Will see how it goes, thats one thing nice about using an EA, it removes the human factor and you can see if an idea will work or not. Then of course the best way to trade is the manual way as this is always better than an EA.

I will be running comparisons between this and just trading the H1 and using the HAS color change as entries and exits.

Thanks for the input and Good Luck

I got your point clearly. I just wanted to know the actual intention of using multiple timeframes.
My understanding is
  1. H4 is used to know the actual trend
  2. M15 is used for multiple re-entry possibilities and to reduce the drawdown

My doubts are
  1. What is the exit criteria ?
  2. Is there any re-entry mechanism added, since you mentioned M15 helps in possible re-entries ?
  3. If H4 is red and H1 is blue, what this signifies ?

Am putting questions so that you will get more idea and i hope you can build much perfect EA.
All the best
