We've got a very nice CZ on Cable right now...
That was a super-easy trade and a perfect example of the system. I didn't take it myself as I'm not trading until after the dust settles on the Greek election this weekend.

If anyone does have any open trades, it's probably a good idea to close them before the weekend as there is likely to be a large gap on Sunday followed by huge volatility. Just had a warning from my broker that they are not allowing trading on Sunday as a precaution.

Since I had already been stopped out at -33p on an earlier trade I let the next one go for 50p with a slightly increased lot size. Or as Mer calls it, a semi-martingale strategy. So in the end I bagged about 3 times as many pips as I would have with the first trade, had it gone OK.

No more open trades for me. Done for the week.

Hi Jajano

Your boxes need to be from 28 candles and more longer for higher probability trading of the breakout.

Larry
Jajano is posting pics of a different indicator; he has been posting charts and asking basic questions without reading the thread first or understanding even the most basic stuff about the system; and on top of that he has given the thread a bad rating vote.

Don't expect to hear from Jajano again.

These charts go back to about May 30th. These are the CZ's that my custom indicator picked out for me. As you can see, there weren't very many, especially on Cable. For those of you using the Squlaou indi, you probably saw twice as many potential CZ's. (Note: I have live CZ's on both charts at the moment.)

For those of you that are gaining enough confidence in your trading that you are willing to trade quantity for quality, I would recommend adding a few more bars to your CZ filter. 28 bars will start to make your charts look more like mine. Using 30+ bars will really test your patience, and it's where you should want to be in your trading before too long. You will know you have "arrived" in your SSBO trading when you shun any CZ with less than 30 bars and is over 28p in height.

A little trick to use when you want to see how close you are to a potential box that has not yet appeared.

Place the cross hair tool at the top of your first candle in the series, hold down the left click and drag to the bottom of the last candle. The little numbers that appear are first the number of candles, the second is the height in pips(pipettes for 5 digit criminals).

This will at least tell you if the box will be the right height and how many candles still need to be formed and when to get back to your computer to see if the box formed or not.

Take care

Another quickie coding update. Got to talk with FXspin again last night, and he is definitely putting in the time on this project. He's got the checklist about half completed, and says it'll be another week to get the other half done. The sneak peek I got looked really nice. This new update is taking the original Squalou indi to a whole new level. Be sure to thank Spin when ever you guys get the chance.

Hi Forexhard,

I would like to thank you for sharing such a wonderful system. I have watched how this trading method over 1 month now and I'm impressed how effective and easy it is to trade it. Except for Tuesday, June 12 and this past week in general, the market has been choppy and the price kept testing both sides of the boxes and created breakouts with limited follow through. Overall for this week, trading breakouts were not profitable for me. Once the Greek elections are out of the way, I'm confident that trading breakouts will be profitable again. Thank you again for everything that you've done for us here in this fantastic thread. I do look forward to the revised and improved indicator. Also, I would like to thank everyone for sharing their experience in here and especially to those who created and improved on this wonderful indicator.

THANK YOU thank you thank you and another BIG thank you!!!!

I just have to admire the guys who do this coding thing, for me it is like magic what they can do, so my thanks and congrats with the sterling effort put in so far.

Steve Hopwood has coded an EA to my spec for trading the SSBO my way which I am happy to share here with FXH"s permission.

The coming week could be interesting, so

Take care

No trades for me today.

I just want to show my set of boxes I have used for EU and GU last few weeks. I'm using SQ indi for my boxes. As you can see there is no need for asking FxH to share his custom indi. With proper settings we can get the same results.
For instance I didnt loose a single trade in last 3 weeks.
Again FxH hats off to you sir.

Regards
A.

Nice charts, REW! How many trades was that over the last 3 weeks? Did you take every possible CZ, or did you selectively stay away from some?

Also, a perfect CZ just popped up on G/U M15.

Very cool. Another CZ has formed in the shadow of the earlier one before a trade opened, and it's even 10p shorter.

Hello everyone

First of all, a big big thank you to forexhard for sharing the system, mer for providing valuable insights, squalou for developing the tool, fxspin for working on enhancements as well as to everyone else involved with the thread, sharing ideas and keeping it going for so long.

I have been a silent follower of the method for a few months now, and having recently finished all my reading and compiling documentation I decided to speak up.

From my experience it's an excellent system, I particularly like how it gets rid of all the information other methods account for i.e. long term trend, MAs etc and yet manages to work very well.

Here's my chart from today. I will try to post more as soon opportunites arise.

Re. chart:
GBPCHF 20p x 30bar, which translates to 2.1pw with my broker although I noticed there can be quite a large difference in tick data across providers, on i.e. Alpari platform same box would give you 2.4 boxes pw, or 4 boxes more over 100 days.

My entries are bit different: I ignore closes outside of buffer zone that occur at low volume, hence I took the 2nd move outside.

For exits I rarely use fixed targets, prefer to observe price action and volume , and sometimes even RSI7 divergence (albeit I try to stay away from it as much as possible).

The box in to the right is just slightly wider 30bar box I move around when waiting for CZs to form.

Thanks again, all input is always welcome!

Sadly parted with my VW beetle today so avatar now just me, I don't look as good as it did!
