Does anyone find merit in a system that
any thoughts on this system?
how to measure if system is positive
scalping in large to capture 'x' atr, then letting the rest run or break even to catch a larger move.
example
standard size for trader is
3units
Trader finds set up.
enters trade using 10 units.
due to positive expectancy, trade immediately goes positive 1 atr
tto is set on entry.
profit is set to atr, or 75%atr or 50%atr of x min atr for profit and
sL = 3x atr(adjustable)
in this example 11 pips for profit, 33pips for sL.
on hitting 11pips,
7units of the original 10units are exitted for profit for a total of 77monetary units.
upon hitting take profit the 3units left are allowed to run or hit the nearest swing low(if long)
depending on setting there is a good chance even if sL is hit you will end up positive
3/77 = 25pip buffer for profit or break even
any links to a version of this or how to optimize?
the primary discrepancy is accuracy of entry to immediately profit 1atr or X of atr.
