Did you take both circles or only the second retracement (the first circle is only a breakout)?
Is a s / d zone on 5 min just as good as on on (for example) 1 hour?

DislikedHello Rufus, It was only today that I read your reply to my post. Thank you for the reply and (indeed) life is more than trading. There are times that our personal life is to complicated and needs to much attention to trade and that is okay. Here a poem by Walt Whitman: There was never any more inception than there is now, Nor any more youth or age than there is now; And will never be any more perfection than there is now, Nor any more heaven or hell than there is now. Back to trading. In some way we need to incorporate life in trading....Ignored
QuoteDislikedDislikedI need to fire up this thread again. Believe it or not I love to write but just lately the time for it has been scarce. A lot going on. Anyway, some EU breakfast this morning.Ignored
Disliked{quote} The second after the retrace. I don't call one zone better then another based on time frame. My objective is to find the pockets of orders the market makers are using to push price. These then show up on anytime frame and it comes down to what becomes clear to my eyes. I like the 5m chart as it has a tendency to show me order flow.Ignored
Disliked{quote} Carrying on with the topic I started here.... How the life you have lived shapes your trading habits. When I was 4 or 5 years I got my first rifle. A 22 caliber Winchester pump. It is a sweet little rifle. Anyway... My dad started teaching ne immediately how to shoot. I believe my dad was the best shot I have ever seen. While in the Army he out shot everyone on base second place went to a guy who shot in the Olympics. Needless to say my teacher was top notch. The three things he taught me from the very beginning was #1. Accuracy, #2. Precision,...Ignored
DislikedMy daughter started asking me about my Fx trading, well one thing leads to another, Now she wants me to trade an account for her, which to me is just fine. But she told some of her friends about what I do. Now what do I do? Start another business and get my series 3 and 34 ? I'm trying to cut back on the work I do with construction getting tired of the headache. But will I be trading one headache for another?Ignored
Disliked{quote} Hey Rufus, I haven't checked into your thread for many moons but saw it today and was just reading back a bit. I saw the post quoted above & thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. Lots of people you meet on the forums will say, "oh no! never trade family or friends' money!" - but, it really depends on the personalities involved and only you could be the judge of that. For me, none of my friends or family have a pot to piss in, so it has never even come up. I do know people with money to invest, though, and trading investor capital is something...Ignored
Disliked{quote} I have made a study of the information from Sam Seiden and the forums about S/D on FF but still I am curious how do you look on a normal trading day at the market. Where do you begin?Ignored
Disliked"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary" Steve Jobs I have not read much about Steve Jobs. This is going to be on my to do listIgnored
DislikedI probably posted this poem elsewhere in this journal but I was thinking about this today. The balance we have in life good or bad comes to the trading desk with us, at least for me it does. This got me thinking about the Tale Of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we...Ignored
