I wanted to learn more about significant people who have an impact on the forex markets. Thought it would be best to compile a list of people who matter and more importantly (in my opinion ) why they matter.
Doing something on your own is not always ideal and I thought I would not only share my own thoughts, but learn from others. (I hope that's why everyone is here)
Here are just a few people who I believe play a significant role/ or affect the forex markets:
Ben Bernanke: Chairman of the US Federal Reserve
The US dollar is easily the most traded currency in forex, therefore, anything that affects the US dollar will be very significant in the forex market. As the Chairman of the US Federal Reserve, Ben Bernanke has a lot of influence in every matter of the US economy. Recent monetary policy regarding quantitative easing has provided a lot of movement in the markets.
Mario Draghi: President of the European Central Bank
Second most liquid currency in forex. Pretty much the same deal as Ben Bernanke. Draghi is approved the ECB's bond buying program which boosted the Euro these past few days.
Haruhiko Kuroda: Governor of the Bank of Japan &Shinzo Abe: Prime Minister of Japan
I combined these two because I think that the monetary policies that Japan has taken since 2012 are the most interesting. The government basically came out and said they wanted the exchange rate of the Yen to depreciate heavily and the market responded by selling off. Haruhiko has come out before and stated exact levels at where the BOJ wants the USD/JPY to trade at and the market often responds by testing those levels. (That makes it sound so easy to trade the Yen )
I'll stop there and let the forums fill the rest out. I know that there are a lot of other players from government officials to Private industry big shot traders who can really move the market. I just wanted to start a conversation and see where it went. I hope to learn a lot of other posters. Constructive criticism is always appreciated. Hopefully we can fill out a long list of important figures in Forex.

THERE IS AS YET INSUFFICIENT DATA FOR A MEANINGFUL ANSWER.
