Disliked{quote} Hey Tony, do you still trade the LS and NY market opens with a 2 pip SL? Reading from the old posts I see you would wait for an initial direction to be taken on the 5 second chart before entering. I haven't finished reading through all of the pages yet but I'd appreciate your opinion on if this type of method still has potential in your experience? I am thinking of trying this over a period of 150 LS and 150 NY opens to see what kind of results and returns I can gather from doing this.Ignored
Disliked{quote} news trading has more impact... I've filtered to trade only the cream of the cropIgnored
Disliked{quote} Okay sure, but this would still be a potentially profitable way to trade right? I can see in your experience earlier on it was. I'm trying to understand news entries better, do you just take the trade exactly 2mins before? Or are there cases where price may react in a certain way before the news that will make you not take that trade? I thought that you were against having to contend with slippage?Ignored
Disliked{quote} It is profitable... but many consecutive opens with no wins will drag your account down. News impacts give you an edge, specially if you enter before. I get no slippage... just a big spread split in halfIgnored
Disliked{quote} Ah this is great to hear that you get no slippage! I have seen people here complaining about slippage before and thought that would be the case with this system. Perhaps they weren't with OANDA however. I suppose this must be as a result of entering exactly 2 mins before irrespective of all candle formations at that time then. Thus the spread is nice and small.. Seeing the front page rules now though, how is it you reached the conclusion for different news having different SL's? I am trying to work out the advantage of having an 18 SL over...Ignored
Disliked{quote} It's all about the spread widening with my broker. The news with 18 pips SL have an average spread of 20 pips during peak (10 pips for me cause I enter before news). The news with 7 pip SL have a peak spread of 15 pips (7.5 pips for me cause I enter before news) It all depends on the news. E.g. NFP will generate a 20 pips spread during peak of news but I'll only get -10 on my screen since entered before... I then have a 8 pip margin for movement... at the end the NFP produces a burst of 50 to hundreds of pips... so -18 is not a big deal...Ignored
