Dislikeddo report their posts to the Mods. More people reporting will get faster action, and maybe even help get them banned from FF altogether.Ignored
DislikedOK guys, listen up. In response to my call out about someone taking the lead for the EA project, fxspin has convinced me they should be given the chance to quarterback the project. So in a little while he's going to come in here and tell everyone what he needs us to do.
So if anyone else wants to help provide background support to the project, start speaking up now so that fxspin will see your comments the next time he checks in. Tell us what your skill set is, and how many hours per week you have free for testing, and so on.

DislikedGreat news. Thought the call for commitment had scared everyone off.
FxSpin what is your basic plan? I would assume we would get the entire squalou indicator functionality in place before starting into the mods.
You could either start with a trading EA and roll the squalou code into it.
Or you can rip the buffers, arrows, and stats out of the indicator and just put in order management code. I was leaning toward this myself but have not put the time in too know which is bested.
I will not commit anything firm but I can help with modifications...Ignored
DislikedLadies and Gentlemen,
I have been following this thread for about 2 months now. I have loaded the indicator on my charts and I have been demo trading it for about 6 weeks. Have I been profitable yet? No. Not at all. And the one, and most important reason why, is because I'm still playing with the settings that work for ME. I'm still playing with the timeframes that work for ME. I'm still playing with the currency pairs that I feel will work for ME. Do I care what settings forexhard is using? Emphatically, NO (no offence, forexhard). And the reason...Ignored

DislikedOk - Here is what I am thinking
The EA will be using the squalou indicator as is for now. I think it will allow people to easily mod the EA when they want to play with it. I will need to make some changes to it though.
The first cut of the EA will be pretty basic since most of the params are in the indi. It will open and close trades based on a fixed sl/tp. I will be removing a bunch settings in the indi to make the EA more readable. Most of these settings are the cosmetic ones so it show not affect your trading params.
People can send me...Ignored
DislikedFrom my experience when creating an EA based on the SQ indi, it won't open a pending order when for GOLD or XAUUSD because of the odd number number. So the indicator has to be modified first.
And due to different code for GOLD or XAUUSD the EA has to be modified into 2 version.
I made the EA with the stop loss right in the middle of the of the box. but sometimes when the range is to tight, it won't open BOTH pending order, it will open pending order one by one instead.
Just an input from me. If you need my code or someone for the EA testing...Ignored
DislikedThe EA shouldn't open pending orders. i believe forexhard and a few others actually wait for the candle to close ABOVE/BELOW the breakout buffer area before taking a trade. Instead the EA should look for the first candle close outside the box and then open a trade in that direction.
I believe SQ indi has the built in via one of the input parameters. If i'm correct: this setting is what controls the buy or sell arrows to appear.Ignored
DislikedThat's correct, but from my manual trading experience i prefer to use the buffer pips line to open a trade, with the stop loss the middle of the box. So that i can minimize the stoploss and use my Martingale Management as soon as i think it's necessary.
The arrow signal is a little too late for the entry IMHO. Here is a sample of the trade i took today and still running.
Cheers,
