Is it for the money? Maybe, but you should think of the freedom trading Forex will provide. It has become the norm for humans to accept the idea that you must exchange your time for money until you become of retirement age. It is also called a job. Time is your most valuable asset, as your time in this planet is irreversible and working roughly 50 years (Ages 18-65) of your life will equate to roughly 10 years of your life spent working (which does not include your work commute BTW). What if instead of exchanging your time for money for the rest of your life like the rest of society, you start focusing in learning to exchange your money for more money? Why is it so many choose option A? It has to do with the fact that society instills this mindset in your brain for the first twenty or so years of your life. You spend your early years going to school preparing yourself to go to a university with the hopes of learning the skillset needed to secure a future career. Why does society not want to encourage you to learn the skills needed to make your money work for you from an early age? It comes down to the fact a that society needs it members to be contributing members in order for it to flourish, as a society will need doctors, policeman, generals, politicians, lawyers, engineers etc. to function at its best. If everyone is learning to make money from their comforts of their home (thanks to the development/advancement of the Internet), who will step up to sacrifice their time away from their family for the better of society? Deviating from the plan of attending a university to land a rewarding career is a risky endeavor that is inculcated in us throughout our younger years. I am by no means putting down anyone that loves their job, as I am a firm believer that if you love your job, you will never have to work a single day in your life. But if you hate Mondays and hate waking up early to go to work and make someone else rich, you are trapped in a vicious cycle that I like to call modern-slavery.
An aspiring medical student will accept the challenge of attending school for +8 years for an opportunity to perform a grueling job +14hrs a day, not to mention most likely bearing a personal debt of six-figure value. The pay may be great, but is the sacrifices made and the daunting hours the job demands of you really worth it to you? If so, I applaud you. Imagine accepting the challenge of learning to make your money work for you for those same 8 years trading the foreign exchange market. This is not a quick-rich scheme and will require strenuous efforts to become proficient in it, but just how someone attends medical school to become a doctor, one can find a genuine mentor to accelerate the learning curve and make those 8 years really count. Because this market is unforgiving and will make your time and efforts be in vain if you allow it to.
With this new Internet era upon us, it has equalize the playing field. Entrepreneurship has now open to all members of society and you must make a decision: dollar per hour vs dollar per pip. You should treat trading as a business, a very demanding one that is, but it does sure come with its perks. No employees needed, no inventory control, work when you want from the comfort of your home or a beach resort in the Philippines (as long as you have a Wi-Fi connection and a laptop), to name a few. Pay your taxes at the end of the year just like any other business would and you sir/maam have your own business. It will become the biggest challenge of your life but it comes down to how bad do you really want it? Are you relentless and will not take no for an answer or are you giving up at the first sign of struggle? This is my vision and Im actively pursuing it. Are you?
Money cant buy happiness, I hear it all the time. But heres a newsflash, neither can poverty. Money buys freedom, gives your family the best healthcare, the best food, the best shelter, the best cities to live in (safety), so why wouldnt you be actively pursuing it? Like Robert G Allen once said, "how many millionaires do you know who have become wealthy by investing in savings accounts? I rest my case." We are living in a new stage of the Information Age, where it is literally possible to make money from the touch of your smart phone, it is up to you how wisely you spend your time. After all, we all get the same 24 hours in a day.
