I guess this is stating the obvious, but just to check, why don't you just zoom in on your charts? All objects are displayed bigger.

Cheers,

Ben
Yes I tried that and I still have a hard time seeing them. Old age and poor eyesight are a dangerous combination.

Sedonna, as far as I am aware, you won't be able to get the arrow larger unless either XuX does it for you or you get the .mq4 file and then modify the arrow size then.

SP, it's OK with me if you PM Xux and ask him to add in some extra visual controls. In fact, I think I see him browsing the thread as we speak, so he may already see this.

The best kind of pips, those you make when sleeping..

Stayed up a bit later to trade this latecomer box. (Still tweaking this pair, I replaced USD/CHF with this as it was a disaster for me) Picked up 2 trades so far this morning, still going but I am now getting up at 6.30am instead of 8am. I found I was missing a few trades a day. The early bird and all that.

Hi there Number 47,

What do u mean with tweaking? Do you change the settings on every pair apart with box lenght en pips TP? So the settings for E/U are different as G/U etc.. etc..
And do u then open manually trades or does the EA that for you?

This is how i'm using it right now (think not the good/best way)

Ive running a demo with the EA/indi for testing & then i trade in my live account.. No automated trading just by hand..

Ok I am spinning my wheels, does anyone know how to get the signals larger - mine are so small I can hardly see them.
See post #5298 (www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?p=6436915#post643691 5) from a few days back.

You can't get the signal arrows larger, they are hard-coded in MT4. Try bar-chart or line-chart and see the difference.

For the rest:

All my settings are different for each pair. Box length and box range, buffer size, minimum closed bars andf of course quick take profit. Find a sweet spot that shows reliable results in a back test and then forward test what you are comfortable with. The forward test is of utmost importance. I had a 75% breakout and 100% success rate in USD/CHF in backtesting, forward was fail after fail after fail.

I don't use any EA. All manual. I suggest you read through the thread, there are nuggets all the way through that will help you, it's a long read but well worth it.

President Obama is starting his SOTU address at this exact moment. It will be very interesting to see where price is at a couple of hours from now...

Number47, your posts are encouraging, but please start posting chart pics to go along with them.

This goes for everyone else as well. I've mentioned this a couple of times in the last weeks already. This is not a gossip blog or a bragging thread. There are plenty of other threads where you can post shit all day long and run up the post count for no reason. But not here, please. That we don't take this space for granted and try to make every post count is a large part of why we have lasted so long and have been able to remain on track for over a year and a half when dozens of other threads get derailed.

I'm not saying that every trade must be posted in pic form (unless you want to). But do try to post 2 or 3 at least.

I've a little trouble, i want to backtest the EA/indi so that i've a report..
I've tweaked it a little but that's only in the Indicator refer box top left.. Now i want a full backtest in the strategytester but he doenst do it..
I've added the EA (latest) but he does nothing.. Anyone who knows what I'm doing wrong?

Thinking that the indicator is an EA. Not doing a week of drawing boxes by hand so you get the concept down. Not reading the whole thread.

those are just a few of your sins.
Have an amazing day

Sorry FH, not intended as bragging, just updating my results. Will post more charts from now on.

EUR/USD is a recovery 1 from trade that failed last night, love how it catches the top of the move.
EUR/GBP is a recovery trade from a morning fail.

I am multiplying lot by 2 for recovery trades.

I have something that is puzzling me, and I am wondering if this is a common thing. I have settings that I have been forward testing for a couple of months on the original authorized indicator. When I put the same settings on the new indicator, with the same 100 look back days (with ma set to false), the stats are very different. Is this normal due to code changes? Did everyone have to rework their settings for the new indicator?

Forgot to mention, on the two charts relating to GBP above, the s/l placement is just outside the reach of the prerequisite stop run before the big move. Poetry in motion.

@eastclintwoo

I have to agree with sedonapipper here. I am a newcomer myself to this thread and the thing that really jumped out of the page at me when I came across it was the attitude of the OP. He struck me as a guy who needed to impress nobody, I tend to listen to people like that as they usually have something worth hearing.

If you are trawling threads on ff then I guess you are looking for an edge to improve your trading (as I was). Here it is, on a plate and free. The least you can do is follow the rules as clearly laid out on page 1. If you had read the thread you would know the situation with the EA. (something I have no interest in myself) you would also know how to set up the indicator.

I'm only saying this as you seem to be directing your questions at me. Please don't take offence as none is intended. I can imagine that it can be daunting to read so much of what is possibly not your first language but I find in life that you get out what you put in, personally I read the thread through twice and I still go back and read again. I drew boxes for a while, then moved to installing the indicator. I watched and did not trade, I spent perhaps 2 weeks finding my 'sweet spots' and in those 2 weeks probably 3-4 hours a day was devoted to it.

Only now am I trading micro lots (I find demo pointless, psychologically) and I will be religiously following the method and noting every trade in my journal, I include time, market conditions, breakout strength, previous S/R levels, relevant news and success/failure times, also anything else of interest. I will be doing this for another 10 weeks before even thinking of trading this system. I have already identified issues that may affect my trading through this and I expect to find more. (Lifestyle issues)

I hope you do what I did, I am massively impressed by this system and am extremely grateful to have come across it. Putting in the work is very rewarding. Good luck.
