I was wondering how this systems works in a flat market, so without any volatility. I would say you keep going in and out of a trade all the time in that scenario.

Any thoughts?

Phillip has already mentioned that this strategy only works for trending market where the slope of 50 SMA must be at least 20 - 30 degrees. In a flat market, the slope of the 50 SMA is also flat. So your job is to scan for currency pairs that is trending. Either you do it yourselves manually or get a scanner software to do the job.

I have had success trading the 10 and 21 emas on the daily charts for a year now. I am looking forward to reviving this thread as well and giving it a go myself.

Could be a good idea to post your rules and charts with entries/exits and explanation of reasons for entering. I have been using the method on 5m and 15m, not higher TFs
Thanks.

Played around with this method today. It’s very close to a system I use on higher time frames.

What I changed 50 sma to a 50 EMA prefer to day trade JPY pairs over usd pairs, I also only trade 2-3 hours after main market open.

chart show two trades I took for a total of 23.5 pips trading .1 lots. (green circles) gray ones where ones I watched but didn't take. Overall if you have the discipline to wait for a solid 20 degree line on the 50 and take solid reversals it looks like a nice approach. Will have another crack tomorrow. one thing caught my eye. as the trend develops it's a warning for me I prefer to take only the first 1-2 ent signals in each new trend.

Just ideas.

Just this but on the daily charts really. I don't have the disipline to wake up at 2 am for the London session. I prefer daily methods. Do you all have some other daily methods that you would recommend?

Tonight’s Europe London session.
Two green trades are the ones I took. The red circle is a loss, to the low of the tail. Yellow circles are new entry types I have been watching. Last two days this method has been doing great, heap better than 1 hour trades!
The dark box and back outlined box is a way i can stay out of sideways action... I will mark it and wait till the 50 ma is clear with a healthy angle, before looking to take a trade. If you can keep out of the sidways action decent trades will come along.

What moving averages are you using on the daily if I may ask? Also, what is your timezone on this chart?
