Gadi_OBV Divergence

Attached...

The divergence algorithm is from an anonymous coder (name wasn't mentioned in source code).

Features:
Latest Divergence
Lastest Trend line
High/Low peeks/trough

Requires Gadi_OBV_v2.2 indicator in the indicators folder (not required on chart) - also attached.

Enjoy.

Thanks for the new currency divergence indicator. Very nice. The currency indicator has become my favourite indicator lately.

Any chance that you can open up for user input the 8 buffers for the currencies? I mean so that we can input which 8 we would like to use. I trade the exotics and gold, silver, S&P and there are a lot more options that my broker offers to trade.

BlackStack,

"Opening up" the currencies for user input will not do the required job.
Currencies are inter-calculated between themselves in order to produce an "index" for each one on a common basis.
Introducing "S&P", for example, instead of some other currency will result in awkward, meaningless outcome.

To do the job correctly requires a special indicator that calculate the USD vs. Metals and/or indexes, based on common denominator (the "0" line).
I don't know about exotics (need example) - but I have indicators for Metals and some indexes. I'll have to do some work in order to make them published.

gg, thank you soo much for wonderful new indicators and effort you have put it... surely remarkable....God bless you......

the gg currencies indicator is showing black screen in my mt4 ... not displaying any data.... whereas the other two divergence indicators are working fine... what could be the issue ? is it because of suffix since my broker uses that ? I have the required currencies diffserve indicators in the folder...

thank u

I see. That makes sense.

Some exotics are:
USDNOK (Norwegian Krona)
USDSEK (Swedish Krona)
USDDKK (Danish Krona)
EURNOK
EURSEK
EURDKK
GBPNOK
GBPSEK
GBPDKK

That's just a small part, many more, but the volume is too small on most of the rest.

Only trade these when London is open. Otherwise spread is too high.

BlackStack,

...and your request (exotics) is to see an indicator with two currencies and DIFF - or the exotic against the whole G8 (it will be a G7 in this case)?

G,

I would like two currencies and DIFF. But this one can wait, I might be the only one that would like this done.

I am more eager for the indicator that will have gold and silver against USD and EUR in it. Thanks. Big moves will be coming in gold and silver and it would be nice to have this before it starts to happen.

You were talking about a way of seeing where the money is flowing to. I've been thinking about this. Is there a way of knowing the volume of buyers in a currency? And comparing the current number of buyers (in each time frame) to the moving average of the volume of buyers? Maybe comparing two moving averages of the volume of buyers. Then when the moving averages cross it would indicate a change in trend of more buyers coming in.

Then the same with the sellers. So you can also tell which currency the big money is moving out of.

BlackStack,

You just used a "dirty word" in my lexicon - Moving Average...Bahhh...
I'll try to explain how to identify (roughly) where the elephants shifting their money in coming posts.

Gold/Silver vs. USD is the coming indicators.

As to jusiur question regarding Gadi_OBV & Gadi_Currencies combination:
At last !!! you are on the right track !!
It's not a question of "combining" the two.
The real question should be "where is the money going to" - to which currency? (note "currency" and not "currency pair").
That's the proper way to look at the market. . .

. . . Forex is a market of currencies - not currency pairs. Currency pairs are the result.
That's why I don't understand traders that are hooked on one pair only. They are missing the whole concept, unless they do see the whole picture and waiting for opportunity on that specific currency pair.
In this THIS thread these guys are working hard on this concept. It is advisable to follow their work not only by the EA who have developed, but also because the concept is whether as applied to manual trading and good indicators. May be one of these indicators is also an "elephant tracker".

Their concept involves basket trading and revolves around MACD's (H4 and D1). I am almost done learning MQ4 and now trying to develop EA for gadi_currency.

jusiur,

I tried and learned the "basket" system from the times that it was here, in FF.
To my opinion they are doing only half way - but there is something in this concept.
They are mixing "synthetic" currency pairs among others - which is wrong, to my opinion.

On top of that - they are using "historical" indicators, which looks great on chart - but have no "prediction" capabilities built into them.

I'm focusing on means to "predict" and not "follow the past".

G.

EDIT:
I still have to update myself regarding their latest development and new indies. It's been a while...

Happy new year to everyone. Hope everyone had a great christmas and holiday season. Looking forward to getting back on to trading come wednesday. G loving the new concepts. Look forward to test them out when you introduce them. Also time to see the results of the other plan over the next few weeks. Major news coming from the US soon. Wonder how this will affect the world economy. Our only concern should be to go with the flow. Everyone, lets make this a special year. Green pips all the way
