hi guys,

how do i link my fxtrade account to mt4 so that i can trade from either platform on same account. When I try to open mt4 account it happens to be a subaccount with 0 balance.

regards.
You need to open an MT4 account with them. Your Fxtrade account # doesn't work with MT4. Atleast thats how it use to be.

Use the funds management section of your online login (same place you created the MT4 account) and transfer your desired balance into the MT4 sub-account.

Then, from within fxTrade, you can switch to the new sub-account and manage trades there, plus log into MT4 and execute trades just the same.

Trades less than $1k in fxTrade won't show up on MT4 (since it can't handle odd lot sizes,) and trades that are above $1k but not divisible by $1k (eg. $12,244) will be shown rounded down to the nearest microlot in MT4.

You will see balance adjustments (post-trade) on the MT4 side of things to account for the differences odd lots will have on your total balance.

finviz.com is delayed. it doesn't update frequently and it focuses on a much longer time frame. this is if you are using the free service. if you paid for the elite, then chances are the prices will be moving a bit more/ a bit more active as brokers only receive prices from their liquidity providers. however, they should be relatively the same.

Oanda: have you considered implementing a functionality allowing positions to be transferred between (sub)accounts? I don't know how feasible it would be but I've often wished to be able to move a position from my main trading account into a subaccount, so that I could just leave it to develop there without it interfering with any daytrading or accidentally exiting it. I know I *could* have two subaccounts, one long and one short and trade accordingly in each, but I would really like to be able to daytrade long/short in my main account, and when I have a position I want to stick with, transfer it to my long or short subaccount (two so that opposing positions don't close each other out) and continue to daytrade in my main account. Like this I could keep using one click trading without accidentally exiting positions, but at the same time some trades could be moved to "incubator" accounts so they can hopefully develop further... if that makes sense?

Hi guys,

is there any chance to take partial profits with the free version of OANDA?
I know that you could place limit orders that reduce the position of the current one, but this is only a very bad option for me.

Just take the desired size as a trade against the direction of your existing position. It should just reduce the position size of the trade you have on. You may get a popup asking for a confirmation of the order, but you can turn this confirmation off in fxTrade's settings (should be the 'confirm position reversal' checkbox, deselect it.)

Also, I have no idea what you mean by "free version of Oanda".. if you mean their practice (demo) account, then it should work the same as live.

Hope that helps.

I tried your solution before but sometimes it doesn't work that fine: I like to place limit orders and it happened one or two times that first my "partial profit"-limit order got hit and then later my regular order. I will upload an example later when I'm on my computer.

So here is an example:

I wasn't able to be at the computer around the time when the limit buy got hit so I couldn't put a limit sell at the yellow line where I would have taken half of my profit.

Hope my problem is clearer now. Would be great, if OANDA could respond if there will be an option to take partial profits in the future!

Hi Savingpig,

Just use 2 different orders to enter. Suppose you want to enter 2000 units and scale out 500 units at the yellow line, use 2 separate orders of 1500 and 500 units to enter the trade. Set the TP of the second order at the yellow line and set the other TP at your final target.

Do you have a phone bill? Cellphone? This can work for the utility bill. Anything mailed to you that's a service and has your address on the invoice.

Any paper from your bank with your current address on it, be it a statement or just a letterhead from them.

You don't need much to satisfy their ID and document requirements, but it must be legit.

I dont get any paper from my bank, everything goes to my internetbank via autogiro. On my internetbank my adress is nowhere to be seen, which is one of the requirements...
