Yes, and you could also drop dead from a heart attack and your spouse will have a hell of a time getting your cash out -- etc, etc, ad infinitum.

My post clearly pointed out that I was referring to AWOL's trading methodology, not trying to cover every imaginable doomsday scenario.

Speaking of, you don't have any close relatives from central Mexico by any chance? Or are you just that bored with nothing else to do on a Saturday eve except split syntax with yours truly?
Sorry, my comment was general and I thought that was clear. I was speaking directly to capital preservation which is applicable to everyone.

I don't understand your reference to Mexico. I am not American.

I posted at 8:04 on Sunday morning which is about 6 hours ago so I am not really just spinning my wheels from boredom. I read many posts in my morning hours. Neither am I trying to argue with you or try to cover every possible scenario. Sorry you have seen it that way.
Regards,
Altos.

OK. I will try to attack your questions each individually. Apologies if I don't come across too clear but I will do my best. I will also share my personal Breakout trading strategy that I have come up with using this method and the guidance of the forum participants.

Before I answer: "HOW ARE TRADERS HANDLING FAKEOUTS?" I want to say what FH has said in his previous post for the record.

I know what you mean by fakeouts BUT try to realise there are no such thing.[u] You are actually saying how does a trader handle price going the direction...
Hi Forexhard and others
As you guys can tell I am reading this thread from page 1.Great thread.I really enjoy it.
Here is a problem for me that I can't seem to conceptualize and perhaps someone can answer.
Forexhard already mentioned that he waits 2 candle close (15min)after outside box to confirm the BO.However 2 15 min candle is 30min and we all know usually most BO are viloet, fast and it can travel 30-50 pips even less then 20min and by the time 2nd candle close you have missed the main move or bulk of it.Assuming the move started from opposite top box and after 30pips bottom box and after 2candles 30+another 20-30pip confirmation that is 50-60pips move already gone hence chance of reversal increasing.
So dilemma I have is how do you address 2candle close confirmation issue.
Thank you
"Let winners run and cut losers quickly" a cliche but 100% true

Here are my settings today - obviously the spread is ridiculous (normally pay around 2.5). Looks promising to me - any comments or suggestions welcome.

It's not an American thing, it was a joke based on the recent news. I was actually trying to make a light post, but I see it didn't register that way. Some things just don't translate to the written word.

Doomsday scenario... Mexican friends... ring any bells now? Maybe if I said Mayan friends? Doomsday? Anything? Ah well, never said I was a professional comic.

Since you are quoting from posts that are over 1 year old, my suggestion would be to keep on reading til the end. But not just reading though, also trying your best to complete the outline of the 1st post as you do so, which entails much more than simply reading. It should take you another 3 weeks at least if you are doing it right.

Good luck, have fun, and see you next year...

I'm seeing the same thing you are. That flag formation could easily turn into a CZ a few bars from now, so keep one eye open. I've still got an open trade set from Friday so a new box forming won't affect me, but I'm ALWAYS watching price action so I'll be right there with you regardless. I bet we won't be alone either!...

Funny that the Mayans actually predicted the world wasn't ending and the extremists around the world ignored what they were saying. Now there will be an ungodly amount of surplus tinned food.....

The end of the world is nigh......my arse it is!

Yep. My wife is 25 years younger and so my accounts are all corporate - and wholly legal in jurisdictions that do not heavily tax. My home country taxes nearly 50 % but I am wholly legal there also. I don't want legal problems

She travels more than me so her risk profile is higher but for us, it does not matter who dies first and neither of us can make off with the loot.

25 years younger, I'm jealous man seriously!! I've got to be rich in my 50's so I can do the same!!

Ah, OK, well let's just put it down to mis-perceptions on both our parts.
As we say in Australia - Let's just stick to our day jobs. :-)

I am inclined to answer this very pertinent/critical question of which it merits an apt reply.

Before I do, I wish all followers/adherents of Jesus Christ a very merry and charitable X mas on this very special day and may Peace be always be with you and all your loved ones.

Now, from your question it is apparent that you have not understand and grasped the correct Trigger and Holding levels in the respective time frames. Assuming that one already knows where those levels are located, a Fakeout happens when both the Trigger and Holding levels are breached simultaneously when triggered, so price will not be able to reach the tipping point to generate a new trend but fall back to its prevailing trend. It has nothing whatsoever to do with how many candles have lapsed/closed. Normally it is quite quick and will cause a distinct divergence in those oscillating indicators like RSI and Stoch etc.

Once again, Peace be with every man and cheers! I will be back if and when its beneficial and necessary.

Everyone:

Over the last couple of days I've been exchanging emails with someone supposedly asking for private lessons. But the messages were very self-serving, and ultimately seemed like they were on a fishing expedition to pick my brains on how to behave like a mentor rather than start a relationship with one.

The guys attitude made me feel a bit guarded, so I'm wondering if any of my regulars have ever been approached like this? Has anyone ever come to you, behind my back as it were, asking that you teach them Stairsteps in private?

There's no wrong answer here. Anyone and everyone should feel free to respond. I'm just trying to see if this thing goes deeper than just me.
