Well, i am just fine with the V3 edition and happy with it now. Having my own system for quite a while, now i got this simple cobra method as an addition for confirmation of my trades (or the other way around).

I walked through some other strategies in FF, this one turns out to the be simplest and most reliable, cuz there isn't much repaint issue involved here.

I trade mainly xauusd, by the way.
I have charts for xauusd, but I have not attempted to trade it.

I am glad things are going well for you..

hello. i have been reading this thread on and off for a long time now and i do my own thing.. but i have a question.

is there anyone here that places targets like i do? where they align to fibonacci retracements, see picture. i do cut my position size, adjusting when it gives enough profits and i do trail my stop according to some other rules. but my question today is only about the tp positioning, where what and how. how do you think? also remember that the example picture is not one of a trade that i am in, it is only an example of where i would place tp if i was long on the break of that cloud.

thank you

Here is the trade on xauusd i made this morning, when the price just passed pivot line, i got myself ready to exit any time when the bar changes color. lots people would probly just got out when it hits the pivot line. but me, i am a bit greedy ~~~

when osma bar turns from positive down to negative, definately you wanna get out.

i studied this method for three days and went straight to live account trading. Up and downs, you know, it takes some time to get familiar with a brand new system.

I am still trying to combine it with the system that i have been using for a long time.

Personally, i would start with the larger time frame, say 4HR. If 4HR gives me signal to short, for example, I will be going down 1HR and look for chances to short, and then back down to 15m chart and then down to 5min and look for a good entrance point to establish your position.

I am still not very comfortable using 1M. But, one thing i can tell ya from my own experience here, the magic happens when you try to set up your stop loss. You go down to 5m chart to look for entry point, doesn't mean you have to make your decision of SL on base of 5M, my judgement will based on 15m or even 1 hr frame. So you wont get swiped out by noises.

Could somebody explain the preceeding TP option in THV Cavemanager?

If I set preceeding TP to 10 pips it means that when price comes within 10 pips my TP would be put further away?

If this is correct, what is the point of this option, why use a the TP at all, if its further away all the time, why not just trail it?
Probably I am missing something, just dont know what.

There's no thing as luck.
There is: decisions YOU make, with the elements at hand, which will be good or bad depending on 1) the accuracy of your knowledge; 2) your ability in applying the rules that you've set - the system in itself; 3) your focus (thus your emotions at the moment of the decision) and 4) last but not least, the mighty market, which can at a certain point turn all the good into a "bad decision" because it involves so much more elements than any of those we are able to understand.

Unless you're tossing a coin for your entries...
Read through the whole threads again, and found another valuable piece here to share with you guys.

Hello guys,

I have just started trying out V4 here and i have a question. According to the rules for V4 in the first post, it states:

Entry:
Above Coral only long, below Coral only short
Price crosses cloud - both Trix cross each other and have the same color.
Best and most secure trend confirmation is a cross of the fast Trix on the zero level.

Here in the picture, should i enter into the short position where the arrow is pointing? But according to the original V3 rules, one should short the fifth candle in the top yellow circle. Am i missing anything?

Thanks and please help. im a bit confused.

I changed the MTF indicator to H1 ast the last indicator. But as can see in picture, it did not show the TRIX color correctly. Is it not made to show H1, or is it a bug?

Greetings! I am still learning the indies to this system, which is very very nice I might add. Question, I have looked thru this thread for a couple of hours now and I cannot find the meaning of the the colored boxes in the Analyze Box of the THV 4 trix indicator. Trix cross is straight forward enuf, but what about the option, and action lines? I can probably figure that out too if I watch long enuf, but I cannot put together what those red and green boxes mean? Do they look ahead to the next timeframe? If so, which ones?

Thanks to anyone willing to enlighten me.

Regards.

that's box color showing the strength of the trend. that option that suggested which i recommend ignored until u understand the basic concept of divergence of PA and pivot or fibo.

You can look to see what happened after this appeared and have your answer.

One thing you should be aware of is that when the trend is flat.. might be best to stay out of the market. This is a trend following system.. you want the trend to be developed so that you do not get whipsawed.....

A 5 minute chart is going to cost you money, many of your trades will fail...... IMHO

On that chart..... the bars are well below the Ichimoku cloud, angle is steep. yes. valid entry.
