Ah man, you mean i have to reinstall it again!

Just kidding.

Thank you!
Many a true word, spoken in jest.

I have done too many updates for minor fixes, but it's a learning curve; I'm more of a photoshopper than coder.

I ran the .exe from the zip file you sent and here's the screenshot as of 17:04 GMT, i.e. there's news in 26mins...

I waited 1minute and the countdown did change and the LED is flashing.

Does your countdown change? Does the LED flash? Send me a message on the feedback form so you can email me screenshots to iron out the bug.

p.s. click the speaker icon in the top toolbar (sounds); what number is in the blue box at the bottom?

Resolved Ramy3's issue.

The blue box in [Sounds] was set @ 99999. Also, his Win7 64bit was changing the build path as the app was compiled to target 32bit, not a bug issue but something to consider if other 64bit users experience strange behaviour when installing et al.

He removed the app setting folder and re-installed and it's now working.

Feature request: Have a tick box to enable / disable all sounds.

Does it constantly flicker when it gets to [1min] in countdown, or just flicker once when it gets to [1min]?

Constantly, untill a new countdown starts. About a 10-15 sec interval.

Probably due to my x64, i guess...

You and your pesky 64bit; upgrade to Win XP 32bit

Try putting 120 in blue box in [Sounds]. Countdown will only check every 2 minutes, so you shouldn't see a flicker.

Is your machine consuming loads of RAM with other apps. I've never seen any kind of flicker and my machine is so old it takes 2 days to boot up.

Nah, Quad core, 8 gigs ram, using 2-3 of it only. Cores are being used very little. CPU @ 36%. 1gig vid ram.

Will try the 120 setting. Thks

Cheers!

Edit: setting the sound blue box to 120 fixed the flickering. It only flickers once when it hits 2 min.

Glad to see everyone appreciates FiatFap's news alert program.

As FiatFap has stated we are hosting the file for him, and i would also like to announce that we are seeding a torrent of the same file as well at this location:

http://cdn.candleforex.com/FXnewsAlert.torrent

We decided to do a torrent after some requests and also because among the younger group they like torrents.

Please note this is a totally LEGAL torrent, but as usual for this file all copyrights belong to FiatFap.

The website has been parallelized (yes we mean parallelized and not paralysed) and also uses a CDN system for caching so it will be very fast.

There is also NO Bandwidth restrictions at all.

Great app, just installed it on Win 7 64 bit works like a treat. One question though, I am in Australia and configured the timezone settings accordingly. What I have noticed though is that once all events for current day are over (b4 midnight Australia) it does not alarm you of any events that happen after midnight or at midnight.

Example, just now there were four USD events scheduled for midnight our time and the alarm didn't come up for me.

Hope I make sense

Thanks
Thomas

Could you replicate the bug by setting your computer clock to the event time (11:58pm Aus time) where you noticed the anomaly, then click the small black refresh arrow in the top left (next to 'Todays Events' label) at 11:59 and 00:00.

What happened with the Richmond Manufacturing Index event, as it's 1min before midnight; did that function correctly?

Edit: Australia has about 63 timezones; which TZ are you using?

Thanks for the prompt response, my timezone is AEST (Australia Eastern Timezone).
Not sure what you mean with setting the computer clock to the event time.

Todays events shows all the events scheduled before midnight AEST.
While the app is running and computer clock ticks over to new day, the list isn't updated with the events that happen after midnight AEST.

I assume that only events that are listed in the Todays Event box trigger the alarm, one possible solution could be to show events that happen within next 24 hours (or make this configurable).

I am only displaying Medium and High impact events and did not have the Richmond MI coming up in the list.

BTW I am using ForexFactory as the news site.

@hometrading

You're correct, the app grabs events for the current date as a first pass; once the list is empty, the timer shuts down.

I need to add code to refresh the list if the app is still running when midnight passes.

You can do this yourself for a new day for those trading @ 12:00am, by clicking the small black refresh arrow in the top left, which repopulates the events table.

If i get other bug/feature requests, I'll add this fix to next release.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
