Just had a thought...
These imaginations that seem to crop up to "protect" the trader, usually don't kick in until a conscious decision has been made to trade, and the trader actually starts preparing to place the trade. Have you noticed that? Until then, the mind is "free" to think and process what the market is doing. Perhaps it would be a good idea for a trader to:
1. Be very careful when making an actual trading decision. Don't play mind games. Think things through carefully then make a firm decision.
2. Place the trade without hesitation when the decision is made to take the trade. Try to make the decision when the timing is "right" to enter.
3. Stop wondering/worrying about whether the entry was good or bad; right or wrong.
4. Switch mental-gears immediately and go into trade-management mode once in the trade.
5. Trade according to your method, and do so as emotion-free as possible. Your method should give you a way to exit or rescue if you were wrong.
It is important for a trader to trade when they see their edge, and not second-guess it. We might discuss that later on.
