Many are keenly interested in both methods. I'm curious what studies, if any, have been done to compare the results of these two great strategies. Comments?

Principally out of curiosity, last week I "looked" at all the posts in the primary Mouteki thread (at the time 1500+). I was curious because any trading system that warrants it's own niche at FF must be pretty special. Just before my eyes glazed over and I slumped to the floor, I finished my review not only of that thread but also the power point presentations and the other related threads and documents. I WAS impressed! What I read had a familiar ring...........hmmmmmmm, trend line trading. Where have I read about that before? Oh well, no matter. Mouteki's info is captivating and "his" system has certainly motivated many people to trade differently, particularly paying attention to larger time frames and BIGGER charts. Bravo!

However, I think comparing it (as I understand what he is advocating) to the "fozzy" method is somewhat like comparing apples and oranges. Both are "technical", true. But the "fozzy" method as I have been trading it seems to require much less managing and/or discretion. Mouteki is on a smaller time frame and requires more work and maintenance. At least it seems that way to me. If I had the time, I would really like to seriously forward test the Mouteki method. But right now "fozzy" has me quite busy..........and I should add, making real profits. I will be somewhat surprised if there is anyone here at FF who has enough experience with BOTH methods to comment authoritatively on this issue. But if there is, I'll be one of the first persons to step up and read his/her comments with keen interest.

Good question carmel!

Both models have their place and audience as BB stated in his insightful post above. I've read through all the Mouteki and am currently housing /maintaining a "Mouteki Resource Page" at my domain www.accrete.com for the gang over there. The model is based on Tom DeMark's teachings in "The New Science Of Technical Analysis" which is a resource i've had in my FX tool kit for some time. I like, and use, Tom's TDTLs in nearly all my trade executions. And as statede in the next bit, i use them on my preferred TF of 30/60/240m charts.

As for the Fozzy Daily? I've been trading with the RSI/Bands/Signal line for over a year on 30m/60m/240m charts. I don't use the daily charts for much of anything except for gaining ATR data and determining possible pivots/SR. I've been following the FD thread as i would like to incorporate the Daily charts in more trades.

I think it comes down once again, to the Ford vs Chevy argument. Both are cars that can (hopefully.grin) get you from point A to point B. Just depends if you like to drive a Mustang or a Camero. ; - )

Cheers,
Thom
