Rather than give you an essay on the topic I will only say.. Interpret backtest results with caution. Dont curve fit.Use common sense. The market has a funny way of changing completely in to something it never was in any time during the last 10 ...

The cost? Not sure how much your paying, but you shouldnt be paying more than about $20 a month. Which is nothing. SWVPS.com is more than sufficiently reliable and the basic winServer package is only about $19 a month i think. I have used them for 3 ...

Good question. I havent used metatrader for years but I can certainly understand the need for it given the growing popularity of iOS and Android. I think one of the reasons is that Metaquotes and other trading platform developers are probably aware ...

Brennan, I wouldn't recommend daily trading targets, just my opinion though. I guess there are others here that would disagree. I'd also say that you shouldn't get in to the habit of taking profit early, but by the sounds of it you already know that ...

It doesn't look flashy because its a tool. A professional tool at that. It is the standard. Nothing else comes close for most professionals at IB's, HF's etc when it comes to market research. I personally like the MS-DOS style look. I am a nerd ...

Oanda. Though their API is not cheap and they only offer "box options" which are a type of exotic binary options i guess. I find their spin on binary options as pretty useless but they might be close enough to what you are looking for.

A lot of studies have looked at this. Yes, it is possible for futures to lead spot. Other times it is the other way around. The 'flash crash' was an example where ES futures clearly led the broader market.

Yes they dominate most futures markets. Though they don't necessarily focus on spot/future arb. They employ many different HF strategies. Bots are the main reason that the order book has lost its usefulness over the years, and has made it a lot ...

every exchange has its own rules. Unless you dont know what your doing and just spitting out market orders left and right, then its best to get on the web site of the exchange and read up its order processing rules. I have been trading futures for ...

That sounds like a good idea. I will continue to forward test and live trade this system with small lots. If i start work on an EA it wont be too soon.

I have converted my own systems of similar complexity to fully automated EAs. Writing it is easy, its the tunning that will take up the bulk of the time. But trust me, its possible. The quickest way for it to almost a replicate human trader is for ...

EA — I am considering writing an EA for this and posting it here. Is there much interest for this? I havent read the whole thread, has someone else already developed/developing an EA? This system is probably too subjective without human ...
