Do you scale out or are you always all in / all out? Sometimes I want to bank profits but I'm not sure the move is over so I take off half.

Yes this is what I was getting at. I never did well simming the FCR so I gave up on it. My idea is that by using system III for context then some System II setups look more attractive than others. That's it. For example you miss a long off a support ...

Hey Feb, since you mention System II - I've been trying to make this work. The method got modified a bit throughout the thread and I'm curious how you'd trade it. With the original 21 target and trailing stop? If I don't trail the stop I want a ...

Feb & anyone else, If you draw a resistance level and that level is broken, do you leave it on the chart in case that level acts as support? I'm trying to minimize the number of levels on my chart and I'm not sure if I should take off the old ...

Sorry for posting a day late but I thought I'd share two trades I did yesterday on simulator. I'm still trying to get the hang of this. I'm using 30min chart only, and not looking to a lower timeframe. I'm trying to enter as close to the level as ...

I want to thank you Dim for keeping the thread going. I'm lurking but it's because I'm studying your trades & comparing levels while I sim this to get used to it. Thanks

This is great advice and is what I plan to do in my first attempt at forex trading off higher timeframes (daily). Can you suggest a broker that would be good for starting with $100? My research tells me Oanda is good for the euro with 1 pip spread ...

IB's commissions are minimum $2.50 so this makes it unusable for micro trading. image I'm still looking for the best way to trade $500 - $1000 size. My plan is to increase size as I demonstrate profitability.

1 - The pricing model for currency futures isn't complicated, it just accounts for interest during the contract's life. if you're trading a single currency you don't need to be concerned with it. The expiration date is every 3 months and only ...

For micro size (say $100 or $500) is it better to pay commission or spread? I already have an account at IB. Would it be better to trade forex through them or say Oanda?
- cunparis replied Sep 12, 2010
I think everything you mentioned is completely false. The future matches the SPOT tick for tick, with the exception that it can be slightly offset to account for interest rates for the contract life. Near the expiration they move lock-step. I ...

Why would the futures broker return your money? The FDIC would insure some of it but if you got a million in there I'm not sure you'd get more than the FDIC amount back.

I am a futures trader. The reasons listed above are all good reasons. I thought I'd list some reasons I'm interested in spot forex: 1 - ability to size positions according to risk. the euro futures are $125k so you have to trade in these increments ...

Hey guys I just found this thread. I was a Feb fan last year when I participated in the System 2 thread. I am not sure why but I got into other methods & techniques. So today trading was really slow on ES so I went to check up on System 2 and that's ...

I just had a 35+ pip drop on one bar on the Euro futures. Bar ending 11:45am. Very strange. Still in the trade.
