As primitive as it sounds, placing stop-loss above/below (depending on trade direction) the closest support/resistance levels works. One needs to remember that "ideal" stop-loss is impossible anyway and settle with what simply makes the most sense ...

I would say thinking is never bad. Questioning your actions in the process, that's bad.

It probably works in markets which have some "real" value behind them (commodities), but likely produces less income than well developed speculation strategies with tighter risk management.
