Does anyone have experience of backtesting MT5 on M1 Macs? My current 2 core intel machines can be easily improved on but, if I rewrite some MT4 EAs in MT5, will MT5 make use of the extra M1 cores and speed? I am happy to rewrite and buy new ...

Many thanks all, that's really helpful. I wrote for open bars and will look into the other suggestions.

That is helpful to know. Thanks to both of you. It sounds like I should port to MT5 so I will look into that.

I would also be interested in knowing the answer to your question. I'm interested in the Dax, Dow, FTSE and S&P. Did you find a good source in the end?

OK I'm still looking for someone to code this. Marketpips wanted the rules not the TradeStation code but the code is all I have and it needs to be converted into an MetraTrader4 indicator. Can anybody do this?

Just a quick update for those who, a few months ago, were discussing a bug in MT4 with Crossover. This is where you can only test all data in your history file as restricting the date causes an MT4 error. Anyway the following code can be added to ...

Will do Bill and thanks. I tend to agree about the RAM issue. If it can run the MACD sample EA quickly then I don't think RAM is an issue there. My EA adds extra processing for sure but does not use any extra price data. Therefore it seems ...

A few weeks in and Crossover is still working well. Had a glitch this weekend but I found out it was due to the Stop level being set to zero when using the MarketInfo function at a particular dealer's server I was using - I kept getting Error 130 on ...

Hi Bill and all Always happy to contribute if I can. Anyway I did some more digging around and looking at these threads it may not be a Codeweavers problem: url url url They seem to be recent posts so I wonder if there is a general problem ...
- Philfx replied Mar 22, 2008
Firstly, many thanks for this information. As a recent Mac convert I wanted to try Codeweavers as a way of running MT4 without Windows. After a couple of attempts I set it up last night and it looks great. Only one problem though but I'm not sure ...

Craig - I tried if (MathAbs(new_tp - OrderTakeProfit()) > 0) { //Modify So I tried 0 instead of 'Point'. I printed both out and they are the same figures but I'll give 'Point' a try also. Thanks for the suggestion, FXid10t - yep tried this too and I ...
