Some of the systems posted above have position averaging, that has a higher level of risk. Also could be a pips vs MAE of 1:2 might be tolerable under some circumstances.

This is summer trading. Ranges (and taking out stops both ends). It will inevitably go to 2.07 bottoms again.

@joyfultrader Its just a USD hedge. For example if US data was bad, then just a USDZAR long would have lost. But if USD data was good, I gained more (0.75%) on long USDZAR than lost (0.35%) on short USDTRY. So this way whatever is US data is a win ...

@joyfultrader Going into US event, ZAR had broken significant resistance compared to TRY. That is why a long UZAR was taken, but hedged with short USDTRY (to keep USD exposure zero). As expected the strategy worked as ZAR moved 0.7% while TRY only ...

ZAR has made a statement, and 10.85 is imminent. Taken long USDZAR, short USDTRY. Adding more at 10.68 (if it gets there)

Am still looking for 1.732 50fib longterm short level. EURGBP below multiday lows suggests more upside for GBP. Possibly 719s

The moment it broke 2.12 (61.8fib of earlier long), now expecting 2.1120 (larger 50fib long) to print. So took short yesterday (hedged with UZAR longs). Working well so far.

61.8fib of 12 Jun lows comes in about 2.12 Until that is broken, or buyers come in...it will just be stop hunt both sides. On the other hand, USDZAR buyers r emerging. Taken long (hedged with NZD longs for USDindex protection thru US session)

joyfultrader: The bearishness in UZAR vs UTRY you mentioned has been going on last few weeks. More so since ZAR broke its 1.5 month Trendline. (Notice the rejection on retest of trendline in chart + subsequent 50fib short holds since top of 10.85) ...

As was pointed earlier ZAR has been appreciating much more after it broker its Trendline. (see image) Tooks a short USDZAR long USDTRY last week (relative USD hedge) and closed ZAR at 10.57 (50fib). Holding USDTRY long till the uncertainty persists.
