On a sidenote, I'm currently working in Singapore as well and you're up awfully late for a non-trading night!

Just curious, am I the only guy with a long bias right now with the possibility of retesting this week's high by end of the week? If that's the case, then I may have to re-evaluate.

Sorry, didn't quite understand you. What do you mean by drawing a shadow?

I think it fell a pip short of 1.3504. My bias is still up at this point in time, as I don't think we have yet seen the high of the day.

If you want to reduce the risk, just trade a smaller lot and calculate how much you're willing to risk for that trade, and put a suitable stop loss for it.

Well, to be honest, I scalp intra-day as well as position trade. I position trade based on the 15 min timeframe, but mostly based on price action, support and resistance levels, and candlestick patterns like pin bars off the 1H timeframe. In between ...

I for one decided to sit this one out. It's very tempting to short now with the current high. For those with longs and are ecstatic with joy, I don't know how you guys do it, especially with holding on to your positions before such a major news ...

That said, when it finally breaks up or down, it will be a very sharp one as everyone will be jumping on the bandwagon looking to ride it out.

It will be ranging until the FOMC statement later. A fall in equities following the statement should be followed by a sharp decline in the Euro. Until then, it's anyone's guess. If the statement is positive, then it's expected that the uptrend will ...

F.X., If it's a down channel, then why are you going long? Sorry, you got me confused. I do agree with your chart though.

Well, I'm looking to short this one pretty soon. I think this bull has had its run up, and now it's time for the bears to take over. Once waiting for confirmation of a break below the range, and down I go. Hopefully hold on to the short up until ...

That's what I said when I was playing Roulette at the Crown Casino.

A little bit early to go long don't you think with the news coming out in like 5 minutes?
- Katalyst replied Mar 17, 2009
Derek, you seem to have a magic crystal ball. What is your opinion on the next movement? I think there will be a slight retracement up before it goes down to your projection. I will be looking to short that retracement up on the 1M timeframe. ...

Question. In your opinion, will we see 1.2900 by end of today? I'm thinking of going short, but not quite sure if today's upmove is over.

That's like 600 pips away?
- Katalyst replied Mar 16, 2009
Just needing to hear additional opinions. How far down do you think this will go in terms of retracement? In my opinion, we are very overbought right now with not much retracement down so far.

Can I see a chart for this please? Personally, I think that's risky because price hasn't really broken clean past 1.2952 yet. This could yet be today's high like it was on Friday.

I think what SunTrader wanted to say was that in this market, there is no such thing as it will never happen. A slight sell-off followed by massive panic sell-offs will bring it to 1.2216 easily in my opinion, along with other favourable factors.

10 pips for a 2 second difference is a hell of a lot. I trade on Oanda as well, but have never noticed this. Maybe I should start taking more notice of it.
