Can't wait for the US to accuse China of manipulating their currency again...because clearly, the US isn't manipulating their dollar, right? RIGHT?

This! I gave up trying to guess the news or traders' reactions to that news a looooooong time ago. PA ftw

Not sure why people are so surprised they did that without an announcement. They'd be idiots to announce it ahead of time! My parents in Basel are over the moon. Their CHF are worth more and shopping in France/Germany will be even cheaper

Funny how they write an entire anti-EU article but their sole argument concerns the EU's efforts to curb overspeculation. If anything, that transaction tax will cut back on all those stupid ghost orders and other crap that's leading to ...

Just want to be clear here: When I'm ranting, I'm ranting against HFT...not algo traders in general.

"Don't devalue your currency...only we're allowed to do that!" If hypocrisy would hurt, the US would be screaming in pain right now...

It's an unnecessary middle man who adds NOTHING other than extra costs. Not only that, it's proven their entire industry makes flash crashes worse. Fact is, the HFT industry is hurting the entire investment community. Tougher regulations are ...

Nothing of that changes the fact that they're making flash crashes way worse...that's a FACT. And to pretend they don't have an unfair advantage is laughable.

You couldn't be more incorrect... url As for your annoyance at people whining about having to pay more...you might not care, but those being ripped of care, and that's what matters. And while HFT alone might not be the root cause of flash crashes, ...

CNBC defending their HFT buddies...who would have thought? The increase in flash crashes should make it clear that something needs to be fixed.

Marketwatch...a really crappy news source. They're essentially a PR network for financial companies, not a real news service

Agreed. And yup, also heard good things about Ninja. My strategy works just fine in MT4 though, and my broker's ok in terms of execution times...so I have no real incentive for switching. Wouldn't be hard to move platforms though. Everything I use ...

Funny how condescending people like you always seem to be the most clueless. Plenty of very profitable people are using MT4. Yes, it has it's limitations, yes, there are better options...but if you can't be profitable with it, the fault lies with ...

Not an MT4 fanboy...but to claim you can't make good profit with it is ridiculous given how many people are using it.

I think my version might have synched a tad earlier since my entire platform kept on freezing/crashing all the time for the past 2-3 days. Fixed it by moving all indicators/templates/EAs to the new folder locations. Bit disappointed that I didn't ...

Do you understand the difference between a random good (ostriches) and something that can be used for a multitude of things (like Bitcoins)? As long as there are people willing to accept Bitcoins (and there are right now!), everything's alright.

It's only a bubble if sellers of goods/services don't honor the current value. Given that you can buy everything from PC parts to real estate with Bitcoins now, this hasn't happened yet. It's pretty clear the value of Bitcoins hasn't stabilized yet, ...

Right...now having typed the above, do me a favor and order goods/services by paying with Tulips Both are real. The difference is, you can exchange Bitcoins for a ton of different products/services, while that isn't possible in the case of ...

And it's all based on psychology on not simple supply/demand...which is the same exact thing for Bitcoins at the moment. As long as you can buy stuff with Bitcoins, it's just as useful as gold. Now if your argument was that Bitcoins are so new that ...

You do realise that the value of gold is just as much based on psychology as Bitcoins, right? You might not accept them, but an increasing number of businesses do...and even banks are considering them now. And no, you can't just "print bitcoins" ...
