lay this one to rest? — Folks, I'm under the mindset that my first dramatic victories with this method were fortuitous. Since then, seems like whipsaw palooza trying to do Asian breakout. I see the lights are flickering on and off so its ...

tonights trade — not much to show for it, nabbed TP 1 x 1/5 and BE = 1 for the remaining 4/5ths of the trade. Used the PA Pin bar and volume to exit. I've moved away from ALF for the time being. Perhaps the thread will have to be renamed? ...

GU sept backtest — gu asian breakout backtest: using alf as filter 690 pips no alf, just BO 763 pips makes me wonder if alf is worth the trouble

I haven't been making pips. thursday night Asian, I only hit tp 1 on aj then it hit sl for a small loss. GU hit sl for a bigger loss. I was asleep then, but if I had reentered, that re entry would also have hit sl. so I had a pretty bad week. of ...

Asian open trade — Well here's my attempt at Asian open. EJ long, hit tp1 and took off 1/5th. We'll see how far it goes from here. Could still be a net loser, but with SL tucked just under the double ALFs it won't be too bad in any case. Bad ...

Maybe go to the original ALF thread and find it there? I may have to reload it too as it has that big black magic marker line where the "select line width" box is.

bad time to trade? — Phreddy I didn't even consider trading the first session of the week, I think its more likely to do senseless things then vs. later in the week. My MTF BBH indicator painted an arrow opposite the move that would have made ...

Um.........ok, its gomarkets. they are in australia, I think just google "gomarkets" and australia and you should find it. I suppose they have a limited time MT4 demo download like most. FW

did you look at the indicator: — agreed.... more than makes up for the couple of losers this week. Did you peek at the MTF BBH indicator I posted?

Good Asian Session — My first trade (GU) only got to TP1 but thanks to ALF/MTFALF the remaining 4/5th only lost about 5 pips each. AJ and EJ each hit TP4. Netted a few pips shy of 400 for the session

Really nice filter/complement to BOWALF — I like this MTF bull/bear helper indie which paints an arrow when 4,3 or 2 (user definable) TF's agree. I have it set to 3 TF and looks awesome when it paints an arrow your direction just before a ...

Box size parameters is definitely one of the major variables to sort out here. Maybe backtest a month with the box max/min set to different setting and see? It seems almost certain that a 50+ pips box for asian is likely "the move" and you've ...

I'm thinking to have the first adjustment to SL occur at TP2, but move the stop to TP1 and trail by 1 TP level on up. This saves you from the annoying 6-11 pip TP1 trades that stop out at BE but keeps stops tighter once you establish a stronger ...

no alf mtf filter — I took a look at august AJ asian session, filtering out any trade where the ALF/MTFALF didn't layer properly in the direction of the trade for the first trade of the session (hoping to avoid false breakouts). It saved from ...

I know, but... — Tahshoon, I thought my trade had it all: ALF over MTFALF for the long and a break of the m15 down TL but it still tanked. Anyone see a clue as to why?

false break — I ate it due to this false break... Phreddy that GU box size was smaller than I would have traded so I stayed out of GU

I've been looking at this as well: inverted ALF false BO filter. If the m15 alf is below the h1 alf, then a long is likely a false BO and vice versa. the shorter term alf should lead the way. Its not a perfect filter, perhaps will increase your ...

1. I hope its still working.....the threads only been open for 5 days! 2. The largest drawdown I saw while backtesting was in the 1-200 pip range 3. as per the original London BO thread, SL is the far side of the box (my addition is: or when you get ...
