Agree, it's not just about spread. I think a lot of new traders focus solely on that without looking at all the other factors, like quality of execution.

I've given up trendlines after finding them far too subjective i.e. they are very easy to draw in hindsight but far too open to tweaking when trading live. The only lines on my charts now are horizontal. It's reduced my stress massively.

Agree rockthepips, and a lot of brokers now offer withdrawals via Paypal, which speeds things up a lot.

Or maybe the spread just widens during e.g. news releases. I have never believed any decent broker engages is stop hunting. But then I have only ever traded with well-respected and regulated brokers.

This is one of my problems with the ESMA ruling. I would rather have the least funds possible in my broker's account, in the event of not being able to get those funds back. Therefore, brokers which offer high leverage are desirable. I just don't ...
