When I started trading about 7 years ago I made a few profitable trades, a couple of losers and then lost complete faith in the trading naked approach and went searching for the answers in forums such as the Trading System found here on FF. That was ...

Yes, thanks, you've just made me rethink my original question and I can see why ATR is used. In fact, due to the way the ADR figures are calculated, the ADR should only really be used if you place your orders when the new D1 bar is started on your ...

ATR or ADR? — Um, don't know if I've missed something here, but are you guys now using the ATR for calculating TP/SL instead of the ADR that you started using a couple of pages back? Cheers BB

The indicator you have there uses the daily candles on your feed to calculate the daily range. On our EA, the hours of the daily range depend on what you have input for the DayStart parameter. So the only way you will get the same range values is if ...

New version — OK, tell a lie, no arrays needed and in the end it was a relatively simple mod. The figures seem ok but I'd like some confirmation from somebody else. New parameter NumDays lets you say how many times you want to go back by the ...

Oops! Yes you are right, FXDD feed is currently 2 hours ahead of UK time, but we're on GMT+1 now anyway so it is in fact GMT+3. Been looking at the ADR and we can't really use this as the definition of the start and end of a day is not configurable ...

Grant I've just modified the code so that it should try 5 times to open each pending order, waiting 6 secs in between each attempt. Unfortunately I can't see any easy way of staggerring the attempts between each of the EAs running on different pairs ...

Pipcruiser I haven't see these problems in the couple of days I've been running it. If you disable the EA, manually delete any pending orders, then re-enable it, do the messages start straight away? How many charts are you running it on? Maybe you ...

EA Problem — Well, I ran the EA on 3 pairs today (GU, EU, EJ) and whilst it generated 3 winners, there is obviously some kind of bug where it doesn't always delete pending orders. The GU trade closed at the correct TP but the opposite sellstop ...

No problem. All your code seems to be working well - got 55 pips on GU with it today. I assume it works ok with multiple pairs so I'll try it on a couple more now. Cheers BB

Indeed, had to re-read it to see what you were saying - think the reference to point 3 confused some people (me briefly included!)

nilram Thanks for the update. Just a small addition of my own to only close/delete orders that are actually present, so that errors displayed in Journal are reduced. Will run it from now on and see if there are any other issues. Cheers BB

I think some of Pupsdad's confusion has come from the wording of the rules that simplecoders put down. i.e. ... (3)* Divide the range by 4 ( 25% of the previous 24 hrs daily range) (4) For Buy order Previous 24 hrs close + (3)* (5) For Sell order ...

At the start of each day it will also attempt to close 2 open orders and 2 pending orders, which may also result in further errors being displayed. Again, nothing to worry about here. I aint got MT4 running at the mo but by the looks of things OCO ...
