Alpari just sent out a mass mailing confirming account balances to people and announcing that CCI legal will now be in contact with customers shortly. I have formed a skype group of several people in the same situation. If anyone has the same ...

Apparently, ALPARI/KPMG started sending out the first wave of letters asking clients with neg. balances to make their accounts good. Has anyone received any letter or phonecalls yet, that he is willing to share with the thread?

It's funny how you completely ignore Silver's or my arguments. I was self employed for many years and have sold claims to debt collectors myself. They don't charge small fees. They are in the area of 10-30%. Also I have never seen one that buys ...

Yes, that's pretty much how I see it too. Unlike Wookey's opinion that we signed a contract that says that we will cover negative balance things are a lot more complicated. It is not that simple because, there are a ton of arguments to counter their ...

You are absolutely right. Most people that trade with market makers have no idea that there really is no "market" and therefore MMs will have a very hard time arguing in court that their LPs had a problem and therefore they were not willing / able ...

EEOs cannot be used for disputed claims. Please check what was written a few posts ago (Or see Wikipedia entry on EEOs) A title by KPMG can only be sold if it was confirmed by a court or if you do not dispute it. People WILL dispute it, therefore ...

I know that you didn't directly say "shut up and pay". I just get this impression when reading between the lines in some people's postings. I don't say that doing nothing is the proper way to deal with this. As I have stated before: Whenever you get ...

My position is that 1.) They cannot legally sue me in UK if I dispute the claim, since I am a consumer and local laws and EU law clearly say, that in this case they must sue me at my residence. 2.) Even if they COULD then I could easily dispute the ...

You are right, I should have investigated further on this. Apparently it cannot be used in the winding-up of insolvent companies. But even if it could it is only designed for undisputed claims.

Hey, Yes, the situation is rosy ;-) I was told about this possibility too. The lawyer said that "If I were KPMG I would sue them all in UK first in order to get a title fast, since I am sure that many of them won't even respond to foreign court mail ...

Thanks for your advice but I know all this already As I said I have talked to three different lawyers. Of course you are doomed if you simply don't dispute their claim or ignore court mail, but I never said that I was going to do this :-)

Hello fellow traders, After the EURCHF incident I have followed the "Alpari" thread and this one like a hawk, reading every single post, since this is relevant for both discussions I will post this message in both threads. I am seeking for other ...
